INTRODUCTION
Development for employee meant basically known as professional development is a process
where employee undertakes various training sessions in order to develop knowledge and skills
that are required as an employee. In the current situation many employees are placed as remote
interns who basically mean the employee is not required to work in a traditional office system
rather the employee will work from home (Arkhipova and et. al., 2018). This situation is known
as remote placement. In the present report is on remote placement for creating the care
certificates for the students. The care certificates are the standard developed under the health and
social care to support the work force regarding their induction and development. The care
certificate provides a framework that defines all the support workers of health and care have
same introductory skills, knowledge and behaviour ensure there is safe and high quality care
delivered in the workplace.
MAIN BODY
Describe the context of the incident
The reflection is based on the Development for employment module in which I am being
selected to work in remote placement and to make care certificates for the student. Remote
placement is the style in which employees have to work outside the environment of the office.
Instead of doing the work from the desk in office remote placement allows to work at whichever
place employee wants to work (Redmond, 2017). I have given the work of remote placement
making care certificates which involves the knowledge about the skills and knowledge which is
required to perform specific job role in health and social care sector. This care certificate
includes many standards which the student must have if they want perceived their role in the
health and social care work. The standards include the personal development, communication,
privacy and dignity, to understand the role effectively and many more. The care certificate
provides the opportunities to the students to develop their skills in which they are lacking and to
begin their journey for those people who are new to this sector. Effective training is provided to
build the knowledge of Health and Social care work so that students are aware of all the things
related to society and health. This job role is sensitive and the certificate which is provided helps

to ensure that individuals are having the skill to deal with the people living with dementia,
learning disability and people with mental health conditions.
Describe the actual incident in detail
I have given the work to make the care certificates for the student but facing the issue
related to this remote placement. Being a new intern I don’t know much about the things and
about care certificate and because of lack of support and cooperation from my fellow colleagues
I am unable to make this certificate (Mantell and Scragg, 2018). In remote placement I am not
allowed to work in the office because of which I am not getting any help and have to work alone
which is taking my much hours which is resulting in stress. The another issue which I am facing
is that the Care Certificates has not to be made in English as it is not the first language for the
students and except English I don’t know about other languages. I have knowledge only about
the English language and I can’t make the certificates in English for which now I have to learn
new language. This will take lot of time as I am new in this job in which I am not getting any
support from my fellow employees make it tougher for me. Learning new language requires time
and not just this I have to learn the making of Care certificates as I am new in this work. I have
to spend much time in learning the Care Certificates and the new languages in which I am
required to make the certificates then only I would be able to make certificates for the students.
Explain why the incident was critical or significant for you
The incident was very critical to me as been a new in the field of the health and social care I
want to achieve an outstanding experience along with that I want to gain more knowledge and
skills in this field. But the above incident was barrier in my growth and development as intern as
due to remote placement I was not able to interact with highly experienced health professionals. I
was not able to learn how to create care certificates for the students which was also delaying the
support for the health workers during their induction sessions (Beavers, Orange and Kirkwood,
2017). The language incident was as critical for me as I was not aware about the different
languages and learning different forms of languages remotely was difficult task. The incident
was critical to me as I was not able to meet my expectation to do my work with utmost accuracy
and on time without delay. Hence, my belief, values and ethics for the work where laid down due
the incident.

During the my remote placement for creating the care certificates for the students the main
concern I was feeling was I was not able to provide my work on time as due to lack of
supervision and knowledge of language the work was taking more time which delayed my work.
My major concern during the incident was that during the period where I should be creating the
care certificates is getting passed in learning how to make a care certificate and different
languages (Ashurst, 2017). Another concern I was facing was how will I be able to learn
perfectly hoe to create the care certificate without the cooperation and support of my fellow
colleagues while working remotely. As without their guidance I was unable to make care
certificate. The key concern apart from all this will I be able to develop my employment skills
and knowledge or I will fail to grow because of which will I be able to become a health care
professional in future.

When the situation was happening I was highly de-motivated and confused as I was not
able to find the solution to the problem I am facing during my remote placement. I was feeling
sad and disappointed towards my fellow members as they were not supportive and cooperative in
training me properly regarding creating the care certificate. I was highly stressed as I was unable
to make the certificated and was feeling lonely (Alsina and et. al., 2017). I was thinking will I be
able to solve this problem, will I’ll be able learn the languages and method to create certificate. I
was also thinking is remote placement is more hectic and difficult task than the working in
offices. I was hopeless at one point time as didn’t able to find the solution to resolve this
situation and work with grace and systematically. Due to lot of consumption of time I sometimes
used to feel highly pressured. Hence, the overall incident made me feel devastated and stressed
due the behaviour of my fellow members.
Mention anything particularly demanding about the situation
The situation demand lot of patience as an intern as everything was heavily confusing and
time consuming. The overall situation made me analyse that particular kind of situation require a
self learning, self efforts and lot of hard work as in remote placement the interaction of intern
with their fellow members if relatively low and also problems are not resolved easily therefore
patience and self- reliance is the most demanding factor of this situation (Harper, 2018). As
without patience I cannot continue in such job where there is lack of support and cooperation

from the authorities or other fellow members of the organisation. In order to complete the work I
used to learn and work at my own potential which means self learning and efforts are also the
most demanding thing about this situation.
Explain how the situation will impact your studies
The above situation will consume most of time in learning the languages and other in
learning how to create the certificates. After which there will be no time left for my studies. Also
I will be so tired and frustrated by the situation that I won’t be able to concentrate over my
studies because there will loss in my studies (Ullrich, 2017). The situation will badly impact my
studies as I will lose my daily habit of studying due to scarcity of time and also my concentration
level will also be lowered due to stress and pressure of work in my head.
Explain how it will impact upon your future role as health professional
This placement was really important to me grow as a health care professional but the
situation will hinder my future role as a health professional. As the situation is completely worse
to grow and develop myself as a health professional. Due to situation my career will be highly
impacted as I am not able to learn one of the imperative yet basic process of creation of care
certificate which very important in the health service to regulate the standards of the knowledge
and skills that every worker must has as introductory skills and knowledge at the workplace
setting. Hence the situation is barrier in my future path as a role of health professional
(Redmond, 2017) (.

How else could I interpret the situation?
I could have seen this situation as the a motivation and learning assessment to learn various
kinds of language and how to create certificates. I could have motivate myself by thinking that
this situation will build self confidence and self learning capabilities in me and making me more
knowledgeable and independent in my work (Rennie and et. al., 2018).
What other action could I have taken that might have been more helpful?
I could have asked my placement officer to shift my placement for some time in office to
learn my job role in better and efficient manner. I should have used language translating tools for
sometime while I was learning language so that I could create certificate on time.

What will I do if I am faced with the similar situation in the future?
If I faced any kind of similar situation future I will firstly remember the previous scenario
to recognise my mistakes I have done earlier so that I do not repeat them again. I will raise my
voice and ask my organisation’s higher authority to provide me with proper training. I will ask
for my other members support and collaboration. I will pre review my job role so that I am aware
about skills required to fulfil job requirements.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded from the above report that the development of the employee is very
important in a job in order to retain and the employees and also to enhance their skills and
knowledge. The care certificate is the standard for the health care service provides which very
mandatory during their induction and training period to provide them with standard rules that
make sure that workers must have specific introductory skills and knowledge to deliver the safe,
compassionate and quality treatment and service to the patients. Hence a intern must be
supported by it fellow members and other staff to keep them motivated and also a training
regarding the job role must be provided whether it is remote placement or work from office.
