The present study is on present city rebuilding and planning. The new principles of city
rebuilding and planning are introduced. The principles which have been shaping the orthodox
modern city rebuilding and planning are significant. Lower income projects have become worst
due to vandalism and delinquency and social hopelessness have hit the slums. Land use planning
refers to remedial and sanitary actions in homes and building of beautiful and strong, which are
in proportion with the streams. There can be no festering and suburb left anywhere, but a
beautiful garden and creating a city with fresh air and sight of far distances can be reached in few
minutes. The land use implies agricultural area which is available at a market cost. A comparison
of state and territory planning systems in Australia refers to enacting the national approach which
can evolve its own policies and legislations as well as approaches. The patrons need to
understand the methods in which Australia’s way differs from the viewpoint of functioning. This
must assist in transferring the knowledge and good practice among jurisdiction. This also
provides the ways for broader practice and policy developments as a national agenda. The
higher authorities must be involved with promotion of specific priorities which are ecological
development.
Summary
The economics behind rebuilding the city relies over reasoned investment of tax subsidies

One of the projects is on the death and life of Great American cities which points on the
planning theory (Row and Jacobs, 1962). Few areas have started decaying in the New York City.
Cities are undergoing through the trial and error planning methods which are leading to success
and failure. The people need to be educated and tested theories must be applied. The teachers and
practitioners must not ignore the success and failure associated with the planning of dead cities.
These must be guided through principles which can be derived from appearance and behavior of
suburban areas and towns and creating dream cities. The endless developments need to take
place in these cities. People having intellectual qualities must be appointed for the planning of
dead cities in America. The necessities and advantages must be taken into account. There is
nothing socially or economically inevitable regarding the decay of old cities. The different
aspects of economy must be purposefully manipulated (Lloyd and Peel, 2007).
Another project of land use planning revolves around creating the towns. This requires
establishment of warehouses, markets, factories, timber yards, coal yards and markets which will
surround circle railway (John, 2007). This will enable the loading of goods directly into trucks.
This can save a lot of time and cost. This will reduce the minimum loss that occurs through
breakage. The aim should be to minimize the traffics on roads and machinery must be driven
through electric energy. This will help in reducing the electricity cost and other purposes are also

reduced. The town must be utilized through agricultural portions which can be held through
various individuals. This includes allotments, cow pastures, small holdings and others. The
agriculture will be the primary purpose of the land. The occupiers must show their willingness to
offer the rent at highest price. This can bring the best system of agriculture within the town.
Another project is on Australian Urban Land use planning which revolves around the
administrative arrangements and the managements of Australian territories and states (Nicole,
2007). However, this varies as per the jurisdiction. Every territory and state can have their own
planning system for land use. The location of the particular territory or state must be intended to
achieve the environmental infrastructure or conservation. There can be a change in government
or any reshuffle will result in the re-organization of the land use functions. The Australian
territories and states have principle legislations and land use planning procedures. The key
objectives identified differ from state to state. This provides an indication of the methodology in
which the legislation can be interpreted. There are state level objectives which are needed to be
addressed within the main legislation (Barton, 2009). These territory and state objectives have a
guiding role in which developmental roles can be addressed. A decision can be taken according
to the needs and wants of the citizens.
Critique
In the first project, death and life of great American cities, automobiles are considered as
villains who are responsible for the disappointments in the city planning. The city building must
be given prominence. However, the large sums of money and power are at risk.
1. This must make the city and automobiles compatible with each other. The higher
authorities must be in the position to plan the simple needs of people (Jones, 2014).

2. There are growing number of designers and planners which can effectively solve the
problem of traffic and congestion in cities. There are more social and intricate concerns
which need to be resolved (Duranton, 2017).
3. Particularly, in the case of planning for the dead cities, large number of earnest people
needs to deeply take care of building renewing. Architects and planners needs to have
same beliefs and consciousness of the things how they work. For instance-the orthodox
planning reaction in the North end of Boston-this is an old area which is merging with
heavy industry is undergoing through complexity with different areas (Savitch, 2010).
In the second project, land use planning-the population of the city is engaged with various
trades and professions. This provides for natural market to the people who are engaged with
agricultural estate.
1. Town’s people have much demand for the produce. The farmers and other tradesmen
have got fullest right to the market. For instance-the area of basic human rights is
contracted and choice area gets enlarged.
2. Here, the application of principle of freedom is applied with regards to people who have
established on their own and manufacturers. These people can manage the affairs on their
own pertaining to the land and provision for sufficient space for traders and workmen.
For instance-with reference to matters like telephonic connection, lighting and water this
holds true within a municipality holds best and natural to supply (McNeill and
McNamara, 2011).
3. There is no absolute monopoly and higher authorities are capable of supplying the
advantageous terms. This holds true for the supply of commodities as well.

In the third project, Australian Urban land use planning-plans refer to maps and drawings or
written documents. These comprises of timeframes which indicates how the particular objectives
or strategies will be attained. However, there are certain guidelines and controls which must be
prepared. These are referred to as the planning statements which denote statutory legitimacy.
1. The term policy has been used in different ways and interchangeable with the planning
instruments. Policy is a broad approach which can achieve the broader objective. A
Strategic policy is required to be drafted for the purpose of urban planning. This involves
identifying the visions for urban planning (Scott, 2015).
2. The process must be made accessible for the community. The Australian territories and
states need to analyze and implement the comprehensive approach for articulating the
planning policy which is often related with housing, infrastructure and urban settlements.
3. The policy frameworks must be given statutory weightage for development and
assessment in every territory and state. Moreover, there are different procedures for
incorporating the state policies (Fisher, 2011).
Conclusion
To conclude, in all the three projects, the main emphasis is on the effective land use
planning and providing equivalent amenities and standards of living to the farmers. This requires
effective statutory planning at the state and territory levels. The strategic objectives must be
devised by higher authorities and involve the citizens who work for their living.
