INTRODUCTION
Critical thinking skills are such skills that help in identifying various solutions for a
specific issue. It is significant for a person to have these skills as it do not only help in making
the personal life successful but it also plays a major role in building up professional life. By these
skills, a person is capable to create various accurate solutions for overcoming from a situation
with least loss and high profit. This assignment is focused upon a purposes and applications of
such skills to the case study given. In addition, a discussion is also made for examining and
understanding skills of critical thinking by ascertaining assertions, statements and claims that are
made from this case study (Akkerman, 2017). At last, a discussion is also made regarding
evaluating of certain ideas that are generated from this case study and on that basis certain
arguments are listed that will provide a clear understanding about this topic.
MAIN BODY
Purpose of critical thinking in given case study context
This case study has generated an idea about how democracy is utilised by government of
various countries. A democratic nation is a nation in which the citizens perspectives has power to
make important decision regarding which government they will choose from all. Moreover, it is
also said that in such countries, people have right to get information, voting power, and to stop or
implementing some rules and regulations which are imposed by government. As per this case
study, it has been elaborated that democracy is an overrated approach that do not provide major
benefits to common people such as individual freedom and human welfare. There are many
concepts which are included in it but in reality the perception is far different from the reality.
Different countries people are provided various rights, an appropriate judicial system and
many such things that are not meant for them. All these things were utilised by political parties
and political leaders in order to their own advantage. In this case, as per the political party
individuals will be imprisoned for life than the judge have to approve this order and it don't even
matter whether individual was guilty or not (Bretschneider, 2017). Similarly, if the political party
want to free a specific criminal than it can do it very easily. So, democracy was for only name
but it do not serve any kind of benefits to people and for the nation. Instead this policy that was
followed instead of democracy was Totalitarianism that is completely opposite from a
democratic nation. So on this basis, there were certain issues by which possible improvements

came to know that applied in this situation. The basic purpose of this critical thinking application
regarding the existing situation is that due to increased curiosity of this topic, information will be
identified and the new learning areas can be developed. In addition to this, when evaluation of
this case study is made, in which it has been elaborated that it is possible to develop new
concepts and ideas that will help in enhancing individual's knowledge (Klaas, 2018).
The possibility of exploring new concepts and ideas is possible that will result in
enhancing knowledge about this topic. Other purpose of critical thinking application is to
improve the level of creativity of people. As more appropriate solutions are tried to figured and
the best solution can be provided regarding the confronted situation. Moreover, certain ideas are
also brought into existence that can help in improving the capability of solving problems of
people. By this case study, it has been evaluated that although it provides certain problems but it
fails to provide solution to those problems. It fails to support and supervise people for dealing
with the certain issues that are faced by them in their life as well. There are other skills which are
can be developed when critical thinking skills among individual is there. The development of
such skills are related to analytical skills, reasoning skills, evaluating skills, organisational,
planning, logical, self reflective skills, language skills, open mindedness, observation skills,
questioning ability skill, creative visualisation techniques and skills of decision making skills can
be achieved.
At the end, by the use of creative skills an interdependency can be created which will
help in thinking out of the box. In this case study, there are certain common issues that are raised
between two people and in this case, these issues are discussed in court than both these people
will be put in prison. So, it was a nice option for both of these people to acquire certain solution
to solve this issue among themselves instead of solving the same in the court. As the court will
never give justice to them (Michels, 2015). So, here people are needed to think in a critical
manner regarding the benefits of going to court as they both are aware that they will not get any
kind of solution so it is essential in this case that a specific solution is needed to get. In the case,
the solution is that a specific matter must be solved outside the court. Hence, it can be elaborated
that the skills of critical thinking is important for a person for ensuring appropriate growth and
development of a person in an organisation.

Understanding critical thinking skills in given case study context
The power is misused in a nation in the name of democracy by the political leaders. As
individuals are exploited by certain political leaders and parties in democracy name in which
people do not have any kind of right in a democratic nation. As a democratic government was
brought by Russia without bringing any kind of policies for protecting human rights. In
democratic environment case, there is no existence of preventing human rights and people who
are living in that particular country which do not make any sense to people living there. On the
contrary, Britain before emerging the existence of democracy, the people were more free used to
enjoy more freedom and benefits of human rights. So it is also considered as a bad situation that
has been existed in the following country related to human rights which were not provided to
those people at all (Müller, 2017).
A statement which is provided in this case study regarding Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt,
under which because of Muslim majority, people have to accept Islam and for many country's
citizens, it was not possible to implement this and this was all done in democracy name which is
a wrongful act. So, in this context the situation is both critical as well as bad. It is not ethical to
force people to accept some other religion as it is against their wish. As per the individual
freedom, each person has freedom to choose their own religion. In this current situation, it is said
accurately that democracy is not considered anything else than a threat to human and individual
freedom. Individuals are exploited in democracy name as efforts are made to bring certain
changes in people's religion that is not correct morally as well as ethically.
The situation that was faced by individuals which is related to arresting and imprisoning
for activities that is not ethical from people's opinions and views. However , in regards to this
situation, it should not be said that country that is utilising democracy uses autocratic policy
instead of that. The basic concern of individual is not taken into account as they are getting
exploited continuously from political leaders and parties. The country's working is completely
unethical as the judges and court itself is under the political parties control (Phillips, 2015).
Outside it seems that the judiciary is not dependent upon these parties while taking any decision
but in reality it is clear that it is also under the control of political leader's powers. Individuals
are not free to take their own decision as they were afraid not getting justice from court. All of
this was done because of the communist party's interest in judiciary system that has negative
impact upon people's mindset in a particular nation. In addition, this circumstance will also

demotivate people to live in that country whose judiciary system is under court's control. In
addition, people were nit provided with any kind of facility and they were also not be respected
which has removed their trust from democracy. Keeping these things aside, people are not even
provided basic individual freedom and human rights which are necessary for every person.
Political parties have control over the property, salary, pension and income of people that
are living in that particular country and it could close at any point of time. So, it shows that this
situation is critical and because of fear, these people are living there. They are not even sure
regarding their meal of next time if we consider this situation (Norwood, 2015). At that point of
time, people do not have any way to hide themselves from this particular situation as everything
is under communist and political parties control and the situation was worsened as the time
passes. This particular situation which is given in this case study are not distinguished from
Islamic Theocracies and it also says that this kind of rule of democracy is wrong. Such type of
system is not vulnerable for individuals as well as society as they are forced to tolerate
everything whatever is being done to them.
Evaluation of ideas as per the case study
Some of ideas which are provided in this case study are good and relevant for
implementing in a working country but not for all the countries. In first point of this case study, it
is related to God and enemies of society that are making other peoples to make certain changes
in their won religion and are forced to adopt other religion, that is, Islam. So, it is rightly said
that each person has its own faith and belief which are related to a specific religion that is
followed by them. So, changing anyone's religion is not a good thing to do and is completely
against humanity. No person in this world has right to play with people's feeling and these people
are completely considered as God's enemies. Each person has right to live their life in their own
and choose whatever religion they want to choose.
Another idea that is generated from this case study is implementing dictatorship at war
times and other means under which it is vital that soldiers are required to work under the
supervision of seniors as all the plans and strategies of working procedure are formed by these
people (Shea, 2015). At the time when the situation of war has arisen, the Dictatorship
implementation is good but while dealing with people of their own nation, it is not accurate to
utilise this method. Adopting these mean will have positive impact upon country and while these
means are adopted, country must ensure regarding preferences, security and safety of their own

people. It was under the control of socialism, under which a specific government arrangement is
completely based upon hypothesis that can be looked conceivable at beginning of mechanical

reason, it was best (Akkerman, 2017).
It was too under socialism, in which an arrangement of government had been based on
hypotheses that may have looked conceivable in the beginning of the mechanical upset however
which in the post-war economy of Europe were discernibly ludicrous. For that very reason it was
best to blasphemy them.
CONCLUSION
From the above given report, it has been conclude that political parties are formed and
generated for serving society and people and they are required to work for making certain
improvements and developing people that are living in their country. They are not developed for
the exploitation of people and make their living tough in the following country. At the end, it has
been concluded that adopting a specific type of ruling system in a specific country that are best
suited for the working of a country and provide its people with the basic rights that can be
enjoyed by them.
