ARGUMENT REGARDING FOOD DELIVERY
Introduction
Food delivery sector has been one of the evolving sectors in today’s society. There
are nearly 2 million users in Australia who have been getting benefitted from the services
of Food delivery. There have been new startups that have been providing support to the
huge demand base of the 2 million clients regarding food delivery. Due to the emergence
of the sector proper research and development in that section is expected. Digital
disruption along with technological shift is being experienced in this section.
Argument
Introduction of drone, Artificial Intelligence, self-driven cars and voice technology
are being implemented in this section. The entire process is in an experimental stage.
Hence proper documentation of the benefits received and the disadvantages that might
occur is formally not done. As per the result of the experiment it can be stated that the
entire process was a success. This is one of the major reason I support the usage of
technology incorporation in the delivery section.
There are many benefits that will be enjoyed on using the different technologies in
the delivering sector. In case of using of drone a decrease in causing of pollution can be
established. Environmental concern has been one of the major aspect that is to be
considered. In case of usage of drones, the pollutions that is being caused due to excess
usage of vehicles in the delivering process has been becoming a major concern. With the
usage of the drones this issue can be permanently mitigated. Toxic elements namely
benzene, 1,3- butadiene and acetaldehyde acts as air pollutants (Hwang and Choe 2019).
With introduction of drones in the delivering process, elimination of pollutants stated
above can be made. Again the time that will be taken by the drones to deliver the food
will be much lower than that of the delivery boys who uses motorbikes. The delivery
process might slow down due to heavy traffic in road but that will not be the case for
drones and hence it can be stated that drones possesses an upper hand to the traditional
delivery process. The functional process of the drones have been already checked. As per
this experiment, 100 locations were fixed and drones were sent to perform the delivery
process. The result that was received was positive in nature. Despite the high accuracy
that was present in the section, the major issue that was noted in that span was the
excess noise that was generated by the drones. This excess noise can be eliminated with
the help of proper research process.

ARGUMENT REGARDING FOOD DELIVERY
Usage of artificial intelligence in the food delivery process will also be highly
benefitting the entire business of online food. Performing predictive analysis of the food
that they will be ordering as per their location is the main role of AI (Kiron and Schrage
2019). It is seen that with the help of predictive analysis, the food delivery app, gathers
the address where the food is to be delivered in the very first instance. This section helps
in avoiding the hassles that might be caused in making the driver understand the original
and exact address. Another benefit that is to be considered is that the time that is spent
in setting the delivery location exactly can also be eliminated. This elimination of excess
time spent will be acting beneficial (Yeo, Goh and Rezaei 2017).
Usage of automated cars in the delivery process acts beneficial as well. With the
usage of automated cars complete elimination of the third party driver can be done as
well. In this case environmentally positive effect is imposed as well. Another major
benefit that is received is that the congestion and traffic present in routes are already
known to the automated cars and hence wise the route with lowest congestion is chosen
by the car itself and hence faster delivery is expected. It is expected that by the end of
2020 usage of both drones and automated cars in the delivery section will be made.
Voice technology is considered to be the biggest upcoming trend in the delivery
section. This technology of more about providing personalization to the orders and the
service that is expected. It is stated that with the help of the voice technology, the driver
can be guided in a better way regarding the specialties wanted by the clients.
Despite the benefits present in this digital disruption process, security issue remains
constant. With higher usage of AI, voice technology and machine learning large amount
of data will be gather, analyzed and stored. This stored data can be un-authentically
accessed leading to data breaching (Epstein 2018). However, this issue can be mitigated
by implementing firewall in the database of the platforms for increasing robustness.
Conclusion
Hence it can be stated incorporation of new technology in the food delivery section
needs to be entertained. Hence I support the technological shift that is occurring in the
process. It can be stated that with better incorporation of technology, higher efficiency
can be expected.
