Managerial Decision-Making

Introduction
The topic will analyse the critical thinking and
reflective writing skills for the baccalaureate
students in Australian Universities.
The actual aim of the research is to determine
the impact of reflective writing interventions on
the critical thinking skills and disposition of the
baccalaureate-nursing students.
It will also demonstrate how effective these
skills are to think critically as well as make
managerial decisions with ease and
effectiveness.

Research topic
The research topic aims to identify the impact created
by reflective writing skills on the critical thinking
abilities of the students.
The research also aims for analysing the nature of
students after they learn to think critically and write
reflectively.
The effectiveness of reflective writing interventions will
be illustrated here as well (Naber and Wyatt 2014).
The relationships between the control and
experimental groups will be assessed here too based on
their reflective writing and critical thinking abilities.

Topic of the article
According to the article presented by Naber and Wyatt (2014),
the reflective writing interventions are considered as major
sources of creating better critical thinking and analytical skills
among the individuals.
The reflective writing skills have not only enhanced their
abilities to understood the root causes of incidents but also
has allowed them to make decisions with ease.
For enhancing the critical thinking abilities, it would be
important to first assume the reflective writing interventions,
common features of the participants having high scores, etc
(Naber and Wyatt 2014).
The State Board of Nursing Registered Nurse certification
test should be passed by critical thinking skills obtained
through reflective writing.

Identifying gaps in literature
The lack of information and data was considered
as a major gap in the literature.
Not implementing the model introduced by Paul
was a major literature gap as well.
The lack of information and approaches to obtain
the managerial decision making skills was
considered as another literature gap (Naber and
Wyatt 2014).
The test scores were negligible, which did not
provide any good explanation about the level of
reflective writing skills obtained by the students.

Research methodology
The level III study was useful for experimental design
through the testing of variables considering the
students’ experiences related to the clinical shifts and
rotation hours, group activities and class readings.
The data collection process helped in in-depth
research for both the didactic and clinical activities
during the research.
The voluntary participation helped in the random
selection of respondents according to CCTST and
CCTDI.
The data analysis tools used were MANCOVA,
SurveyMonkey.

Findings
The sample size is 70 where 36 students are from the
control group and the remaining 34 from the
experimental group.
The Chi Square tool used proved that the groups were
heterogeneous.
The top ten scoring participants possessed exceptional
analytical thinking skills and it showed that they had
been skilled enough to achieve accurate information
(Naber and Wyatt 2014).
The scores were recorded in between 70 to 420, which
proved that most of the students had obtained relevant
critical thinking skills to manage reflective writing and
make managerial decisions too.

Implications of the article for management
practice
The article constituted of information related to
the benefits obtained from the reflective writing
interventions.
 It also presented the approaches needed to
enhance critical thinking skills and facilitate the
making of managerial decisions in business.
The data analysis tools were used and tests were
done to check whether the students had been
capable of writing in reflection and could make
decisions properly or not (Naber and Wyatt
2014).

Evaluation of the article's effectiveness and credibility
The authors Naber and Wyatt provided genuine and
accurate information in the article, which has allowed me
to develop the report easily.
The article consisted on proper tests results and it
showed that most of the students who were part of either
the control or experimental group had obtained relevant
critical thinking skills.
The collection and analysis of data further helped me to
obtain good results (Naber and Wyatt 2014).
I learned about the control and experimental groups
where the group members obtained relevant knowledge
and skills and could allow them to progress in the future
with ease.

Conclusion
The presentation provided brief explanation of the
article along with the purpose of the research.
The findings showed positive results and proved that
most of the students had obtained the necessary
skills to think critically and make managerial
decisions.
The article was effective in providing information
required to enhance the management practices.
Lastly, I understood that the article had been kept
updated and the information present there were
quite effective for accomplishing the research with
convenience.
