2CRITICAL THINKING
I have studied the 17 sustainable goals of the UNESCO. I have selected no poverty goal. I
have chosen this goal as I feel that there are many people who are leading their lives under
conditions of extreme poverty. Though the poverty rates have been reduced by more than half
since the year 2000, there are still many regions in the world where people are leading their lives
under immense poverty. I have been touched by this sustainable goal because I am moved by
seeing many people suffering from a lack of food. They do not even have the rights to get
admitted to any school. This is also because of the fact that these people are not literate enough
to understand the importance of education. As a result of such illiteracy and ignorance, they
often suffer from unnecessary discriminations. They also take many bad negative and harmful
steps as they do not have the decision making power. High poverty rates are often found in
small, fragile and conflict-affected countries. There are places where people often become
victims of natural calamities of any other kinds of conflicts. It is for this reason that they often
suffer from the chances of poverty. It has also been seen that the children, young kids and
women often become the victims of poverty. Thus, I want to work for this aspect and make sure
that I am being able to make their lives better. I also want to work for women empowerment and
make them educated in lives.
I have also gone through the facts and thee figures under the read more section of this
website. I have been surprised to see that only One in four children under age five in the world
has an inadequate height for his or her age. This is evident in the fact that there is large scale
malnutrition still existing in many different parts of the world. I have been really surprised to see
that As of 2016, only 45% of the world's population was effectively covered by at least one
social protection cash benefit. This is because of the fact that a large number of people stay
outside the realm of protection. This is evident in the fact that the implementation of cash

protection is not properly dined for the majority of the people. It is for this reason that I want to
work over this particular issue. I am also greatly upset by seeing that Globally, there are 122
women aged 25 to 34 living in extreme poverty for every 100 men of the same age group.
I am greatly up-set after seeing this as I do not support the women and the children being
neglected. There are chances of many health problems that might affect women and children.
The bit of encouragement I got was that some kinds of works were being done in order to protect
people from the chances of poverty. About 45 percent of the total populations have been brought
under the cover range of the special cash benefit. I want to work for these goals so that the
women and the children living in the most backward and the poverty-stricken places can be
helped. However, it must be noted in this context that it is the collective responsibility of the
Government and all the other people to join hands together and overcome this problem.
I have really liked the blogging experience as part of this particular assignment. This is
the first time that I am doing the blogging. This is really very interesting for me and I have been
able to learn many new kinds of methods in which I have to carry on with this work. I have also
come to realize that the final project that we will be doing is based on blog writing. Blogging is a
very good and useful means of writing or doing the project works as this will be helping me to
express and thoughts on this particular issue in a proper manner. I will also be able to convey my
thoughts to a large number of people living far and wide across the Globe. This will also be very
helpful for me in order to reach put to the people via the different forms of social media apps and
platforms. I will like to take up each and every opportunity that will be coming in my way in the
future.
