Background of the study and the gap in the literature
Cross-cultural management is the process of effectively managing the differences of
people and it is primarily the role and responsibility of the human resource management of the
company. Irrespective of the cross-cultural presence of employee, there is not much research
conduct on the impact of the cross-cultural difference on the international employees working in
Taiwan. Earlier researches have discussed about the cultural component of the MNC’s
(multinational companies) and their level of interaction. However it does not discuss the issue of
the impact this multicultural attitude could have on the job satisfaction of the international
employees working in Taiwan.
Thesis statement
The aim of the paper is form a thesis statement for the research to be conducted.
According to the earlier researches, it has been found the idea of cross-cultural difference and
their correlation with the job satisfaction of the employees has remained grey for a long period.
The paper aims to highlight that cross –cultural differences on the level of the job
satisfaction for the employees in Taiwan. The rationale behind choosing this topic for further
research is that rapid growth of globalization has led to the diverse workforce coming from
multicultural backgrounds. However it does not discuss the positive and the negative impact of
this multicultural attitude in creating higher job satisfaction to the people. Human resource is
faced with the growing problem of cross-cultural relationship of the employees since in many if
the cases it is found to have negative relation.

aspects of human resource management. Hence this research is expected to throw light on the
question of positive and negative impact of cross-cultural differences in creating higher job
satisfaction of the international employees in Taiwan.
