INTRODUCTION
Cross culture management is essential part for multinational organizations. Managers
formulate strategies to overcome issues of diversity. To understand problems face by
companies related to diversity Hydro Generation has been taken. In this report issues arise in
organization due to lack of communication and negotiation problem has been identified and
learning reflection of this part has been described briefly.
TASK1
Issues arise due to communication and negotiation problem
Graham Steinberg is vice president of Hydro Generation, they start a major projects in
Tanzania. For the purpose of supervise and control the whole project they hire Brett Jones.
For project Tanzania they also recruit Lawrence Bertelet who is CEO of this project.
Conflicts aeries between Graham Steinberg and Brett Jones due to their negotiation and
communication problems as Graham did not accept all the things that Jones did their work
very well without any problems and issues in African country as it is very difficult for
Americans to influence Africans for their work (Bird, and Mendenhall, 2016). With high
communication skills and great knowledge of Africa Jones easily influence African
community their government to give permission for dam project. According to Graham
perception they have doubt regarding Jones capabilities according to them Jones is not right
person for this post, as Jones will be take bribe and unethically used their organization fund.
According to their point of view Jones hire African people with high rate of wages. Due
communication barriers, network problems, Jones unable to give proper feedback of their
team work thus miscommunication issue aeries between them. Business organization needs
to follow up face negotiation they concept in this theory it is clearly define how individuals
will mange different cultural rapport and problems of miscommunication. People draw
image of others according to their perception and it will directly impact on their
communication. In this case Vice president of the company built negative image of Jones
thus they are unable to understand Jones point of view. To overcome this problem effective
Jones need to use effective communication tools (Johnson, and Cullen, 2017). Jones will
needs to show documents as proof that he will not take bribe. On the other side Graham

REFLECTION
For group work assignment our teacher divided all class into groups. I and my friends are in
one group. We got the case study of Tanzania project. It is related with cross cultural
management. Me and my friends decided to complete it within the given time period. For
this purpose we manage our research criteria. Before the project was started I was very
worried but excited too for this project. As I am sure that after completion of this project my
knowledge regarding cross culture management, for Tanzania will be increases. But due to
this project I have cancel my plan for going on trip with my family. I felt so worried as it is
typical report for research and my researching skills are not so good. We stated work on the
report day after we get the report all of my friends and I done our all essential work as we
know that we did not get time if we start work on this report (Romani, Mahadevan, and
Primecz, 2018). My group member were perform very well all of us decided to work on this
report at my home. We all decided to compete it within days. We all the whole brief it will
help us to identify format of reporting in which it will be presented. I read all the case study
very briefly. I felt so frustrate during reading the overall case as it is too long. After reading
the case we all discuss with each other regarding the issue and topic of this case study. I lead
my team and thus I decided to give3 each part of the report to each group member according
to their interest. The report covers 3 parts which covers, nationality, leadership, organization
structure, motivation theories and communication and negotiation issue. After summarizing
all the case study I choose to cover up and research on communication and negotiation topic.
This topic is helping me to understanding problems arise due to lack of communication
problems. I started work on this report during the period of preparing this report I have
suffers from many issues as I got problem on searching related the topic the language is too
hard to understand the real meaning of what in this case writers want to be shown. I took
help from my friend. He helped me in understanding the problems clearly. Then after I
analysed the main problem related to communication and negotiation arises in this case
study. I have understood the all case and analysis that problem arises due to
miscommunication between the vice president and manager of the company. Jones work

topic and analysis that this theory is based on the concept of misjudging people due to their
cultural diversity, peoples build negative image of other in their mind. Thus they will never
understand others perception. I have identified that Graham Steinberg build negative image
of Jones thus he will never appreciate contribution of his work. After recognizing all the
case and concept of face theory I identify that to overcome this problem manger of Tanzania
project needs effective communication policy which help in built better relationship between
Jones and Graham Steinberg. For this purpose he needs to use effective tools of
communication, with video conferencing Jones can talk with their vice president and show
all pictures and essential data which showcase that Jones does not get bribe and not included
in unethical activites with Africans. He must collect all data as proof, on the issue of higher
wages Jones must be give clear clarification due to hard working atmosphere African labour
deserve high paid wages, on the other side Graham Steinberg also need to confirm all the
information they need to go Tanzania to analysis all the working environments, problems
faces by their employers in working in another country, he should give correct order
supervise all activites off Tanzania project by applying effective communication tool for this
purpose he need to use social media devices , to talk with their subordinates and get receive
on thwart work he should need to increase his listing skills in order to become attractive vice
president he need to learn trust on their managers, and learn skills of effective
communication of Jones which help in reducing issues arise of diversity(Primecz, Romani,
and Topçu, 2015). Cross cultural management, this report really help me to understand
overall concept of how people mange their diversity issues. It is difficult for me to prepare
this report but I have learned so many thing. My experience of working in group and lead
the group was so good, I have learnt that team work will help in solve problems and built
strong relationship between group member, leading group will encourage my leading skills I
