REFLECTION
The project on Cross Cultural management could not be submitted in predefined course of time
by me and the situation of resit arose owing to a number of reasons. The most important reason
of the non submission was the issue of time management. The project was based upon the case
study of cross cultural management whereby a company based in America was seen to be
undergoing a project within Tanzania for dam construction. A number of issues were reflected in
the whole case study such as HRM and motivation, leadership, national culture, organizational
culture, organizational structure, diversity, ethics and CSR and communication and negotiation.
In this regard, the issue that was selected by me in the group for the project was Communication
and Negotiation. There were several issues that existed with the project in Tanzania out of which
this was regarded to be the most crucial one. This issue was selected by me looking upon the
importance of communication in relation to the execution of any project. All the information that
was to be included within the podcast and reflective report part was collected by me in due
course of time. However, it could not be written down within the time period allotted to the
group which is why the project was subject to non submission. Time management is one of the
most important skills which must be present within each and every member of the group while
working in a team in a class project. However, the absence or ineffectiveness of this skill within
me was a crucial reason the project could not be submitted to the tutor in given time period or in
other words, the deadline. Yet another skill that was recognized by me to be weak which resulted
in non submission of the project in given time period was lack of coordination and
communication within the group as a whole. In this regard, the major reasons why there were
coordination and communication issues were noted to be the differences in opinions of all the
members, the diversity of culture and academic backgrounds and personal issues between some
of the members. All of these issues restrained the members from communication with each other
in an effective manner as was required for the timely completion of the project. The lack of sync
somewhere even led to the emergence of conflicts between some of the members. All of this
created synchronization issue between the individuals of the group. So, time management and
coordination issues were acknowledged to be two of the weak areas due to which project could
not be completed and submitted in a timely manner. This made me learnt that time management,
communication, synchronisation, collaborative working and coordination are the most important
skills that need to be present within an individual to duly complete all the assessments and

projects in given deadline. Looking upon this, I have realized that it is important for me to
complete my project well in advance so that it can even be checked once before the final
submission. Also, I will make sure that I do delay any project submission because of any of my
or group members’ mistakes as the projects hold crucial impact over our final grades.
