Reflection
For the completion of this module I have worked with a team which is having different
culture and belongs to different community. While working with cross-cultural groups I have
learned various new things while working with different cultural people like it help to identify
new ideas of completing the module in easier way. It also help me to develop my innovative
skills by finding new ways to resolve any problem during the module. I communicate well with
my team mates and they all help me well to identify the direction of completing the module. On
the other hand, I also face few or the challenges like understanding different languages of my
group members. I face issues relate to understand the languages of my team mates. Although we
all team mates have decided to communicate in common language and that is English but
sometimes all of us communicate according to our comfort zone and communicate in own
languages which provide disadvantage to understand the concept clearly.
I have also faced issue to sacrifice my own style of working and this is not easy for me to
go against my natural preference. While completing the module we also face few conflicts due to
different preference and attitude of group members. My happiest experience while working in
across- cultural group is that when we all share our ideas together and make a new idea with
mixing the concept of few ideas together. I was selected as an group leader. Hence, my role is to
manage my team well and analyse whether they are having appropriate resources to complete
their task or not. I have tried best to manage team effectively by distributing roles and
responsibilities according to the specialisation of my team mates. I also make sure that my team
members will communicate effectively and in a common language that is English. Secondly, I
also try to make sure that each member in the team will respect each other well and appreciate
their innovative idea. I have learned various things by this module like roles and responsibility as
a leader to manage cross culture. I would like to focus more upon my skills for working in cross
cultural team by analysing motivational factor for different group members in a team.
I have also seen while working in this group that most of the decisions are taken by male
members and the suggestions from female side in decision making process is ignored by them.
This could be a worst experience about me while working in a cross-cultural group. Hence, I
have learned that whenever I have asked to become group leader of such a team
where I have to work with different cultural people then I will give equal opportunity to my

group members to participate in decision making process. I will make sure that the team will not
face the issue of male dominance in decision making process.
