INTRODUCTION
TASK 1
P1 Aim and objectives of the firm LSI Architects
Topic: Implementing CSR activities within organisations to meet sustainable objectives
Introduction
In today’s era, to be in the competition and attain set goals and objectives within
stipulated time period in an efficient and effective manner, to fulfil corporate social
responsibilities (CSR) is highly significant. CSR and sustainable objectives say about the way in
which organisations become able to attain their enhanced ethical standards as well as it leads to
keep a balance over economic, environmental and social imperatives (Eckerson, 2010). It proves
to be highly effectual in addressing the concerns and expectations of stakeholders associated
with business. It can be said that with the help of CSR activities, sustainable objectives of firm
like healthy community, protecting the environment as well as maintaining social equity and
justice will be attained (Keller, Parameswaran and Jacob, 2011). In the present research, the aim
of study is to implement CSR activities for meeting sustainable objectives with respect to the
firm, LSI Architects.
Background of research
In the construction industry where LSI Architects is operating, there is cut-throat
competition between firms because of which it is important for the selected organisation to
implement CSR activities within organisation so that sustainable objectives can be achieved. As
there are many firms in the sector which are compromising with their quality of products and
services so as to earn maximum profits at low cost (Freeman, 2010). Due to the same, trust and
loyalty of customers from LSI Architects is decreasing even when it is offering good quality.
This is the reason; if firm will implement CSR activities in organisation then it can gain several
advantages like increased satisfaction of employees and customers, rise in the goodwill and
brand image of firm as well as enhanced customer base (Karaibrahimoglu, 2010). Therefore, to
make the company able to sustain for longer span of time, implementing CSR activities within
organisations to meet sustainable objectives is important.

TASK 2
P4 Research at small scale using qualitative approach of the research methods
Research methodology refers to all tools and techniques with the help of which study is
conducted depending on the nature of subject on which the investigation is to be made. To
conduct the study in an accurate manner, it is vital for the researcher to use appropriate methods
of research. In research methodology, if conducted in an appropriate manner, validity and
feasibility of the study is justified by making effectual use of techniques through which aim and
objectives of research will be achieved in an accurate manner (Johnson and Christensen, 2010).

diagnostic and experimental. It is because of the reason that topic is theoretical and thus,
in-depth knowledge as well as details regarding topic are required.
Research philosophy: It refers to variety of dimensions that proves to be helpful for the
scholar to perform research in an effectual manner. There are four kinds of research
philosophies, that is, Positivism, Interpretivism, Pragmatism and Realism (Jackson,
2010). However, as per the nature of present research, scholar will use Interpretivism
research philosophy in which various elements of study are included that ultimately
integrates with the interest of people. Apart from that, it helps in understanding several
aspects of the research issue that helps in attaining accurate results of study.
Research approach: A crucial role is played by the research approach in a study by
which validity of assumptions are tested by the scholar in relation with the subject of
investigation. Deductive and inductive are the two research approaches used in a study
depending on its nature (Hassan, 2010). In the present research, scholar will use inductive
research approach in which conclusion will be made from specific to general based on
implementing CSR activities within company for attaining sustainable objectives in LSI
Architects that can be applied on the organisations belonging to other sectors as well.
Data collection: Both primary and secondary methods of data collection will be used by
researcher to implement CSR activities within firm for the purpose of attaining
sustainable objectives. Under primary data collection method, information will be
collected for the first time through undertaking survey in which tool of questionnaire will
be used (Johnson and Christensen, 2010). However, in secondary data collection method,
sources like journals, online articles and books will be used through which plenty of
information will be gained by the scholar based on topic of research.
Sampling: Sample size for the present research is 15 customers of LSI Architects that
will be selected with the use of random sampling technique in which each participant
from the research universe will be having equal probability to get selected (Jackson,
2010).
Data analysis: There are majorly two methods of analysing data, that is, qualitative and
quantitative. For the present study, qualitative research technique will be used under
which tool of thematic analysis will be taken in use by the scholar. In this, different
6

themes based on the topic of research will be made that will help in making the final
conclusion in an accurate and relevant manner (Guest, MacQueen and Namey, 2011).
Ethical considerations: While performing research, for the researcher, it is highly
important for him to conduct all activities in an ethical manner. For the same, when
he will tale the interview, it is his responsibility to inform the selected respondents in
the sample that they will be informed prior the interviewer asks information from
them (Hammersley and Traianou, 2012). They must be ensured that the data taken
from them will not be used for any purpose other than research as well as will be
kept confidential.

From the graph, out of 15 individuals, majority of them states that the CSR activity
should be carried out regarding the empowering women. His is the most sensitive issue and the
society are required to conduct the awareness regarding this aspects. But there are induvidiuals

P6 Recommendations to LSI Architects as per the above analysis
From the above data analysis, it can be stated that the CSR activities which are carried
out in the LSI Architects are good. But still there are some of the changes required so that they
can actively conduct the CSR activity. With the interference of the government and changing the
norms of the society, the LSI Architects are required to conduct the CSR activity frequently so
that they can develop the positive goodwill in the minds of the people. Besides this, it will
further assist the society in the development as well as the growth (Capriotti, 2011). Even it is
recommended because the government gives leverage to the organization which performs the
CSR activities and even they provide different types of benefits which will be advantageous for
the firm in future. On the other hand, other recommendation which can be given to the LSI
Architects is that as per the majority they need to conduct their CSR activities regarding
empowering women (Jutterstr and Norberg eds., 2013). This is because there are very few of the
firm which are doing the CSR activities for the benefit if the women. By fulfilling the needs and
expectations of the customers it will aid the organization in developing the competitive
16
Document Page
advantage in the market. Besides this, they need to conduct the CSR activities on protecting the
environment. As majority has not voted for this but still with the increasing health issues and the
conditions, the LSI Architects can make the people aware regarding the protecting of the nature.
This is most important to carry out their operations in the market. On the other hand, another
recommendation to the LSI Architects is that the training and development program which they
are organizing as the CSR activities are not effective (De Roeck and Delobbe, 2012). They need
to hire the proper trainees and adopt the effective techniques so that they can provide proper and
effective training to the individuals. This will be helpful for the firm.
TASK 4
P7 Reflective statement
This report was very useful in identifying the value of the project management process.
With the help of this, I gained lots of understanding regarding the activities carried in operating
the successful business. With the help of survey, it assisted me in finding out the actual response
of the respondents regarding the CSR activities which is conducted by the LSI Architects.
Besides this, there are various areas which cannot get the particular information but through the
data analysis it helped in stating that CSR and sustainable objectives are related with each other.
For me, it was very knowledgeable as I did not have huge knowledge regarding the CSR
activities of the organization. Further, I did not know that it is essential for the organization to
carry out the development of the society. In other hands, through making questionnaires,
objectives etc. are the ways through which the management process can be carried out easily. I
found that it is essential for the LSI Architects to identify the importance of the CSR activity on
the organization.
For carry out the report, I found various difficulties in gathering the information about the
LSI architects. The sources which were available very less and it needed huge matter to carry out
the authentic research. But still I gained lots of knowledge in the management process field as
how the business uses the objectives to gain the importance of particular topic. On the other
hand, I conducted survey for the first so for me it was a great experience. I found some difficulty
in collecting the accurate information because if authentic information was not received then the
conclusion drawn would be wrong and the report will be of no use. So, due to this reason, I took
time to gather the data from the respondents. Besides this, I did not know that the respondents’

information has to kept confidential and even the answers regarding the questionnaires cannot be
disclosed. So, there were many new things I got to lean about the survey method. Due to this
report, I felt that I saw development in my work. Even the time was also less to make the report,
but in the given time frame I completed my work as this made me realized that I have the
capability to complete the task in short period of time.
CONCLUSION
From this report, it can be concluded that CSR activity is important for every
organization as it helps in development of the society. LSI Architects need to focus more on
conducting the activity so that it can help them to develop competitive advantage in the market.
As by taking care of the society, it helps in developing goodwill in the minds of the customers.
With the help of the survey also, it has been identified that most of the individuals are in the
favour of conducting CSR activities regularly so that it can help in development as well as
upliftment of the society, which will further result in increasing standard of living of people. It
can be inferred from the report that training and development carried out by the LSI Atchitects in
the CSR activities are not effective. So, it is advisable for them to recruit the best trainees so that
they can provide useful training to the individuals.
