INTRODUCTION
Corporate Social Responsibility is considered as a concept of management where
organisations integrate with the social as well as environmental concerns within the operations of
business along with interacting the stakeholders. In this report, current problem related to CSR
will be identified and analysis of causes of that problem will also be present. Moreover, solution
will be provided to address such problem along with discussing strengths and weaknesses.
MAIN BODY
In order to evaluate the process in which the main objectives of CSR can be met
effectively, it is very important to first understand the meaning of CSR (Neiles and Bowers,
2020). It is defined as a self-regulating model of business that facilitates an organisation being
socially responsible to itself, its public as well as stakeholders.
Identification of problem:
In the present scenario, the current problem in context of CSR identified here is the
problem of Environmental Degradation (Corporate Social Responsibility, 2022).
Causes of problem:
The causes of the problem of Environmental Degradation are described as under:
In the last few years, the number of registered and certified organisations got reduced and
scholars greatly debated the drivers, benefits as well as barriers. But the latest reduction
in the registration of Environmental Management and Audit Scheme has not been studied
in a successful manner. There was unsolved queries for the scholars, policy-makers as
well as practitioners.
Land disturbance is another cause for the problem of Environmental Degradation because
of which there is damage in the land.
Pollution in any of the form like water pollution, air pollution, land pollution or noise
pollution is harmful to the environment. Air pollutes the air that an individual breathe
which causes problems related to health. Water pollution has degraded the water quality
that is used by a person for the purpose of drinking. Land pollution has resulted in the
degradation of the surface of earth because of the human activities like excessive
ploughing, etc.

Overpopulation is also a cause of the problem of environmental degradation as rapid
growth in population strains the natural resources. Mortality rate also fell down because
of healthy medical facilities and lead to increment in the lifespan.
Solution to problem:
The potential solution to the respective problem is Recycle and executing the habits of
recycling into the daily life of an individual is one of the most precise as well as effective way
(Hundarenko, 2019). This solution would facilitate in lessening the landfill waste, conserving
natural resources like water, air, soil, etc., saving habitats, reducing pollution, reducing the
consumption of energy, slowing down the global warming. Following the environmental laws
that are designed by the government of country is also an effective way to solve the problem of
environmental degradation.
Strengths and weakness of solution:
Strengths: Recycling helps in reducing the consumption of energy, decreased the
pollution level, slows the rate of natural resource, fights with the global warming (Harris
and Lloyd, 2021). Other strengths of recycling is that this process is considered as very
environment-friendly and also helps in decreasing landfill waste.
Weaknesses: The major weaknesses of recycling process are that it is not always cost-
effective method and also increases the up-front costs. Recycled products are mostly of
low quality which is also a weakness of the recycling process.
CONCLUSION
From above explanation of report, it has been concluded that corporate social
responsibility can help any organisation in reducing the risks within its business and also
improves its brand image. In this report, a current problem is identified in relation to CSR and
along with it, the causes of problem also have been explained. Furthermore, the solution of
problem has also been given with the description of its strengths and weaknesses.
