Implementing CSR Activities for Charlotte Hotel Project

This project examines the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities within Charlotte Hotel to achieve sustainable objectives and gain a competitive advantage. The project begins with defining the aim and objectives, which include understanding CSR, its importance, and its link to competitive advantage. A project management plan outlines the tasks, duration, and timeline using a Gantt chart. Small-scale qualitative research is conducted using a questionnaire to gather employee opinions on CSR. The questionnaire covers topics like CSR's importance, benefits, and the main issues within the hotel. The research findings are analyzed, revealing that most employees agree on the importance of CSR and its potential benefits. The analysis also identifies employees' safety as a primary concern and highlights environmental initiatives as the most important CSR area. The project concludes with recommendations for implementing CSR through a separate department and charity events.

Topic for the current research: “Implementing CSR activities within organisations to meet
sustainable objectives”
Background of the Study:
Corporate social responsibility can be defined as an important aspect within the
organization to operate business in an effective manner and in developing positive perception in
the mind of customers. It will help the firm in attaining competitive advantages (Cavico, 2013 ).
Many companies are there who provide service users with same type of service and products.
Further, there are diverse ways and different type of techniques that are applied by firms in order
to be better and to gain maximum profit. With this respect, implementation of CSR is one of the
effective ways with the help of which competitive advantage can be attained (Deng, Kang and
Low, 2013). In order to conduct the present research, Charlotte hotel is taken into consideration.
Cited firm is headquartered in UK and was established in the year 1924. Further, they aim at
understanding their customers and delivering them services accordingly. This research focuses
on determining importance of CSR and benefit to organization in attaining competitive
advantage. Below given are the aim and objectives which will enable to focus more on the
research:
Aim: “To determine the role and importance of corporate social responsibility in attaining

Description: In accordance with the analysis made, it can be stated that there are about 6
of the individuals who strongly agree that CSR is highly important for the Charlotte hotel. In this
context, it can be stated that workers with the organization understand the importance and they
know this will enable to develop positive perception within the mind of customers. More
specifically, there are 7 of the workers who agree to it. Moreover, there are 2 of the employees
who are not sure whether CSR is important or not. On the other hand, there are 3 of the workers
who strong disagree that CSR is important for the firm. Moreover, it can be stated that two of the
individuals are dissatisfied.

respondents think that cited firm will get benefited with CSR activities will be implemented.
Further, there are 6 of the workers who do not think that CSR will be beneficial. Moreover, there
are about 4 individuals who do not have any type of opinion to whether it will be beneficial or
not. In addition to this, there are 4 of the respondents who are not sure for the same. From this, it
can be stated that CSR will be effective strategy that can be implemented by the firm with the
help of which they will be able to raise their sales and profitability and higher customer base.
Further, this can be determined as an effective way that can support the firm to grow with
effective support of workers.

set of strategies that are being implemented. Understanding of customers is highly important so
as to gain maximum profit. It can be achieved when effective strategies that enable to attain
competitive advantage. In accordance with the finding, conclusion can be made that majority of
respondents have identified that there is link between CSR and competitive advantages. Further,
6 workers are strongly in favour to the question. Further, 8 workers are also in favour of it and
they agree. Two of the workers do not agree that there is link between CSR and competitive
advantage and 1 individuals who strongly disagree.

Description: Within organization, many problems are faced. As per the firm selected, it is
being identified that the type of issues that faced is employees safety. More specifically, there are
11 of the respondents who think that management need top consider employees as according to
them, this is the main issue. There are different type of tools and equipments that are provided to
workers it is essential to make sure that all employees are able to work effectively and
efficiently. Further, there are 4 of the workers who think that main issue is child labour. In
addition to this, there are 5 of the workers who think that main issue is women right.
