and works for the positive impact on society. This assignment reveals the understanding and
application of a sustainable approach to Business Management, including strategic planning
and CSR challenges. Further, a reflective update on key skill is discussed in detail.

Introduction
For business success and growth, the idea of sustainability is powerful to create profit for
shareholders by protecting the environment and improving the life of the people of society. With
increase in the contribution of the business towards social problems, this enhances the
business reputation (Cohen, 2017). Sustainability becomes the opportunity for business
success and growth.
The technique of strategic management assists the business organization to achieve the long
term goals in effective and efficient manner by adopting sustainable activities. For sustainable
approach the business strategy and management that business adopts to operate the functions
of the business in an ethical and sustainable manner. There are two efficient approaches that
implement by the business organizations that contribute to the economic growth of the country.
These are mentioned below:
The Industrial-Organizational Approach- This approach main aim is to develop the economic
theory that assists to deal with the issues. These include issues like allocation of resources,
economies of scale and competitive rivalry.
The Sociological Approach- This approach deals with the issues while interacting with
humans with assumptions like bounded rationality, profit sub-optimality and satisfying behavior.
There are various strategies that business needs to operate in ethical as well as sustainable
manner. These include strategies that are mentioned underneath:
Adapt the CSR practices in the strategies of the business- It is essential that the
business adopt CSR practices while formulation the strategies such as the minimize the
wastage of food to achieve the success.
Look for opportunities to build a future pipeline- To provide the benefits towards the
community and for the growth of the future development of the employees.
Integrate the approaches related to thinking design- This strategy helps the
company to take initiatives in the designing process to perform the daily operations.
By engaging with the levels of management for earning their support- For the
successful growth and development of the business it is crucial that the business must
engage the employees and their participation (Turner, 2016). This helps the employees
to understand the business processes and functions.
Find new drivers of innovation- For the innovation in the CSR, companies prefer the
CSR as an innovative driver, incubator and take initiatives for research and
development.
There are several examples of strategies that businesses adapt to perform the functions of the
business organizations in ethical and sustainable manner. These include:

Since I joined the course of Foundation of business communication I got the chance to develop
my key employment skills that require for the development of my career and for my personal
growth. While doing this course there are several skills that I got the chance to develop me.
While performing this course, I got the chance to interact with others that develop my
communication skills. It involves while performing the group task I learn to interact with others
and communicate my thoughts and views with other group members of mine.
During this course, this enhances my teamwork skills while working in the group task and
achieves the shared goals. There is some task that we have to perform in groups it includes
assignments, discussions, presentations, and reports. It also enhances my verbal as well as
written communication skills during presentations to generate my ability to speak and working in
cooperation and coordination with others (Levi, 2015).
Further, during the participation in class projects and presentations, I faced many difficulties.
While performing the group task, I tried to manage and resolve the problems that arise while
performing the task and the problems that are faced by the other people in my group. These are
some of the incidences that assist to develop my problem-solving skills.
It was the time when my mentor told us to prepare a presentation on Foundation of business
communication and the presentation of task divided between the groups of four. During this
presentation, I am responsible to delegate and allocate our respective portion and my task is to
present the group work in front of the whole class. Firstly, we all started to collect the relevant
material to prepare the presentation. It is my responsibility that each and every team member
will perform their task incorrect manner (James, 2015). This presentation requires technological
skills that need to be the use of while preparing the presentation. Since I learned about the
various features of the Ms Office equipment like word art and font types.
After seven days, the presentation is finally prepared but when I saw it I want certain
improvements. On the day of the presentation, we have only two hours make the changes that
need to be done. But I took initiative and making the required changes within the available time.
I learned a lot during this presentation as it enhances my teamwork as well as problem-solving
skills as discussed above. With effective planning and organizing, we do the necessary changes
within the specified period of time and the presentation is successfully present by me in the
class. Our efforts are considered by our mentors and my team awarded with the second prize.
While preparing this presentation, I got the chance to develop and enhance my several skills. I
never thought that such presentation leads to help me in the overall develop my personality. I
realize that I learn to develop my teamwork skills by cooperating with my team participants.
Further, I also realize that I successfully achieve the skills of problem-solving. This presentation
helps me out a lot to handle and resolve the issues with effective decisions (Cameron and
Green, 2015). It raises my decision-making skills. As I take the initiative to implement the
improvement in the end moment this further depicts that my initiative skills are improved.
Further, during the preparation of this presentation is successfully managed the work with

effective planning and organizing the assigned task. This helps me to develop the skills to fulfill
the commitments on time and helping to organize the things successfully. With this experience, I
got the chance to improve self-management skills with the working experience. While doing this
presentation I got the chance to know about the computer technologies during the preparation
of presentation. I become more familiar with the office equipment and this help in developing the
technical skills.
I want to relate my above experiences with the Tuckman theory. This theory develops the team
with maturity and establishes the relationships between the team members. In my case, when I
working as a team leader during the group presentation I can easily relate my working
experience with this theory. This theory is divided into four stages that include:

Forming- This stage of the Tuckman's theory, depicts the relationships between
the roles and responsibilities performed by the individual (Betts and Healy, 2015).
Here the leader must be prepared to answer the question of the team members.
In this context, as the team leader of our group presentation, I have to answer
several questions of my team members.
Storming- It is not easy to form the decisions, it is important that the team
members establish good relations with other team members. It is important that
the team is to distract with the team goals. In this context, as the team leader, I
have to manage the relationships among the team members. This stage main
aim is to focus on the issues and their relationships.
Norming- It is important that the roles and responsibilities among the team
members must be clear and accepted by all. As a leader, I engage my all team
members and develop the style of working and all the members of my team shoe
with respect to my views and opinions.

Performing- This stage depicts that the team must clearly know that what they
are doing and why they are doing. The team must agree with the criteria laid
down by the decisions of the leader (Raes, et. al., 2015). In this context, as the
team leader, I delegated the relevant task to my participants and perform the
project in effective and efficient manner. As leader, I manage the entire
delegated task performs effectively and efficiently.
Adjourning- This phase is very important that is relevant for the people in the
group but it does not include development and management of team. As a leader
in the present task, I and my team completed the task successfully.
With the abovementioned discussions, I conclude that this course gave the chance to develop
new skills in me and improve the already existing skills. The above learning skills assist me to
develop my personality and keep me motivated to perform the new task and understand the
new things.

Conclusion
As per the discussions above, it is concluded that the role of the CSR is to provide the benefits
towards the community and for the growth of the future development of the employees as well
as the community and the society. The above mechanism building the relationships between the
buyers and SMEs, and to analyze the power of the market within the relationships and becomes
essential to secure and retain the business profits. With the help of the self-reflection, it depicts
the improvement in the learning skills that assist me to develop my personality and keep me
motivated to perform the new task and understand the new things.
