Introduction
Implementing CSR activities have become a major practice around the world for both the
corporate and small-scale entrepreneurs. It is acclaimed as one of the most virtuous practices
that improve the sustainability goals for the organisations in the competitive markets. In this
regard, this study has tried to identify the objectives related to it, for which it has considered a
small-scale organisation, named as Premier Choice Telecom. This is one of the budding
organisation with an employee base around 50 and yearly turnover below 5 million.
Task 1: LO1
P1 Devising project management and objectives in corporate social
responsibility
Project management refers to a unique approach for a company, aiming to develop a
sustainable growth for a long run. However, it does not mean to target a routine operation,
which is supposed to be conducted for a long while. Thus, most of the companies devise it as
a strategic method mostly to ensure a certain objective or set up an agenda. Project
management for an organisation is potential to provide a sustainable growth any organisation
whether they are large corporate or small-scale entrepreneurs. As per the comment of Saeidi
et al. (2015), project management includes diverse aspects of action that include skills,
knowledge, tools, techniques and most importantly implementations. These are the key
factors in project management that are capable enough to offer and ensure sustainability in
organisational approaches.
Corporate social responsibility, nowadays have become a key of success in this regard, where
most of the organisations across the world are liable to play a vital role. It refers to
conduction of certain amount of activities, which extend the profits of all the stakeholders
around an organisation too. According to Epstein. and Buhovac (2014), corporate social
responsibility helps an organisation to earn a certain amount of loyalty in society, which are
mostly devised from successful implications of projects. The implications of these projects
related to corporate social responsibility emphasis the idea of goodwill for any organisation.
Thus, it is extended up to gaining massive reputation for an organisation in a certain
geographic sphere. However, it includes both internal and external stakeholders related to it,
when it comes to the question of welfare. Devising project management process usually fall
into five groups, which are initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and closing
respectively. These are the process, though which an organisation is capable to draw attention
of their stakeholders followed by earning massive goodwill extensively. Premier Choice
Telecom also needs to address these avenues to ensure their benefits in the long run. With
distinguished focus on the goals, resources and strategies, organisations are also liable to
bring some other factors in action such as integration, scope or opportunity, cost, quality,
time, human resource, communications, risk managements, procurement and stakeholder
management. As opined by Ageron et al. (2012), an organisation, even if it possesses small-
scale turnover and employee base, is always liable to gain benefits largely with the
implications of these strategies. However, it requires a certain degree of action and planning
to secure the success.
Using project management applications for the sake of gaining advantages in corporate social
responsibility objectives is always helpful. However, the chances of gaining success through
the implication of corporate social responsibility increase higher, when it comes to small-
scale organisations or entrepreneurs. However, the most essential part of a project
management is obviously the scheduling, which includes the implementation of all the above-
mentioned strategies (Schaltegger et al. 2012). The value of project management in corporate
3

social responsibility extends up to a rapid and wide growth for any organisation if
implemented properly.
P2 Producing project management plan covering up aspects of cost, scope,
time, communication, quality, risk and resources
Corporate social responsibility or popularly known as CSR is highly accountable for ensuring
an ongoing commitment of an organisation. It is also liable to project the goodwill of an
organisation to all its stakeholders both internally and externally. In most of the cases, it is
seen that, the necessity of project management in corporate social responsibility derives
either from economic interests or from sustainable management interest. However, in recent
past, most of the organisations around the world are found to be searching the sustainable
goals (Garay and Font, 2012). Application of this purpose is also liable to provide a large-
scale goodwill to the organisations, aiming to ensure a long while survival in the competitive
markets. With the insurgence of multiple global brands or any other entrants, the issue of
survival of an organisation is always questionable. In the opinion of Thompson et al. (2013),
project management in corporate social responsibility is capable enough to ease of this matter
if it is implicated properly. However, the process of implications is always dependent on the
factors related to the goals of an organisation.
Moral importance of sustainable development always requires to be prioritised by the
organisations, which can provide them the maximum amount of benefits in sustainable issues.
Gaining confidence from the target customers or audiences by the implications of corporate
projects can lead an organisation to all the desired success eventually. However, it is always
bounded to be implicated through some devised strategies. Cost, scope, time, communication,
quality, risk and resources are the key factors in this regard, which are loyal enough to coin
the most effective approaches to gain success in devising the successful project
managements. According to Rothaermel (2015), organisations around the world are liable to
gain massive benefits with the implications of the initial phases that starts from considering
all the process mentioned above. Premier Choice Telecom has considered all these strategies
effectively, while implementing their corporate social responsibility plans on saving nature
project. Implicating this project management is found most reliable to provide them an
efficient amount of benefits as a telecom organisation. As opined by Aguinis and Glavas
(2012), playing a role in saving nature can be considered as the most reliable project
corporate social responsibility, especially for telecom organisation. Thus, the management of
this organisation needs to consider all the above-mentioned strategies in this specific regard.
Cost plays a major role in any project management plan, where companies need to budget a
plan and make it less difficult in terms of their implication. It is also recommended to the
management for ensuring all the attributes needed to implicate the project in the most
appropriate way.
Scope of a project always refers to an extensive research that reflects the opportunities for a
project. It is also liable to make the management of the organisation aware of the possible
outcomes. Thus, in the words of Cheng et al. (2014), the management of Premier Choice
Telecom needs to acknowledge the scopes properly in order to assure both opportunities and
risks related to the project.
Time is another major aspect in project management, as it ensures the desired outcomes to be
achieved in stipulated time. It also indicates at the necessity of the project to be done as per
the commitment. Besides, the management of organisations extensively focus on it so that it
cannot overflow the stipulated budget as well. Premier Choice Telecom also needs to
prioritise this factor as a motivation to finish the project within the deadline
(premierchoicetelecom.com, 2017).

Communication is s factor that reflects the necessity of bonding during a project. It not only
refers to the effective association of the internal stakeholders but the external stakeholders are
also associated to it. This, considering this factor is capable enough to draw attention of the
customers along with the local authorities of an organisation. Premier Choice Telecom needs
to consider this factor more than anything does as they are moistly into communication
business precisely.
As stated by Kim et al. (2012), quality issue is a major factor to be considered for any
organisation. This factor is capable enough to increase the trustworthiness for any
organisation, which is also liable to ensure sustainable growth for any organisation. Quality
of a project is also a matter of brand equity that eventually helps the organisation to earn
maximum benefits.
Risk in a project is sometimes hypothetic factors until they affect the benefits or loyalty of an
organisation. Thus, in the opinion of Baumgartner (2014), the management of an organisation
needs to address this factor calculative so that they can get triumph on it. This factor always
gives opportunity to the organisations to stay aware of the negative impacts that can ruin the
purpose. Premier Choice Telecom has considered several factors in their project that may
indulge diverse potential risks.
Resource is the most exclusive factor in this regard, without which the organisations can
never be capable to run a project successfully. As opined by Brammer et al. (2012), a project
always seeks a certain amount of resource backup in order to ensure the process of
implications.
P3 Producing work breakdown structure and Gantt chart for the project
Developing a work breakdown structure for the projected attempted by Premier Choice
Telecom is highly recommended in order to ensure the appropriate process. It is always found
liable to draw the attention from the people associated with it and insists them keep up
implanting tasks accordingly. According to Servaes and Tamayo (2013), work breakdown
structure helps the management to keep all the records related a certain project until the final
stage of recommendation. Premier Choice Telecom also needs to develop it in order to ensure
the proper implementations of their plans.
Figure 1: Work Breakdown Structure
(Source: Kitzmueller and Shimshack, 2012)
Premier Choice Telecom is suggested to follow the above diagram, as it is liable enough to
help them to get the desired benefits from the stipulated plans. The management of Premier
Choice Telecom needs to initiate the program first with the inclusion of the factors, such as
cost, scope, time, communication, quality, risk and resources. According to Welford (2013),
this phase helps the management to proceed to the next stage, where the development of the
5

planning needs to be conducted. In this phase, diverse plans are developed keeping all their
execution processes in mind. This phase is led forwarded to the next level, where the methods
of the planning are outlined. This phase covers an extended area, starting from the sampling
technique to sampling methods. This phase also helps the managements to select the data
collection methods as well. It heralds the beginning for the next phase, where data are
collected as per the predefined techniques and methods. In most of the cases, the management
of the organisations conduct survey or interview or both to collect data. In this regard, As
monitored by Fujii et al. (2013), Premier Choice Telecom is also recommended to ensure this
strategy and take steps ahead to conduct them accordingly. Eventually, the final phase
arrives, where the management becomes capable enough to recommend further plans after a
while of monitoring process.
A prior development of the work breakdown structure leads an organisation to create a
timeline of the project. Creating timeline for the project is always essential for any project in
order to develop the proper planning and that is too within the stipulated time. As stated by
Heikkurinen and Bonnedahl (2013), the management of Premier Choice Telecom is also
recommended to develop a Gantt chart in this regard to formulate the project plan in proper
way. Development of Gantt chart is liable to help Premier Choice Telecom to gain motivation
to step ahead with next plans.

P4 Carrying out small-scale research with application of qualitative and
quantitative research methods
Carrying out small-scale research is always liable to explain the needful actions of any
project. In this regard, the organisations play a pivotal role by conducting primary or
secondary research. However, in the context of Premier Choice Telecom, the management
has only focused on the primary research technique. Selecting primary research technique has
been derived from the idea that they already had managed to develop their findings on
secondary sources (Barkemeyer, 2014). The management of Premier Choice Telecom has
selected a certain amount of people to conduct this research through both survey and
interview. 33 customers have been selected for the quantitative research, for which 7 survey
questions had been developed. Besides, 3 managers had been selected for the qualitative
research, for which 3 interview questions are developed.

Task 3: LO3
P5 Analysing research and data outcomes using appropriate techniques
and tools
Analysing the data derived from the qualitative and quantitative research works can be highly
useful if decoded appropriately. Analysing the data is also liable to get practical effects of the
measures taken by Premier Choice Telecom. Thus, this part focuses on the data outcomes
from the research conducted in the previous stage.
As per the data received from the quantitative research, 45.46% of the total respondents have
found Premier Choice Telecom to be playing effective roles in natural welfare. However,
major percentage of them denied it completely. It is one of the most essential reasons, why
Premier Choice Telecom needs to focus this project more gracefully. On the other hand,
66.67% of the respondents found this organisation customer friendly. The quantitative
research outcomes have also explained that the management of Premier Choice Telecom
never did shed light on this area until the implementation of this project. However, it has also
revealed that the management of this organisation had previously organised several small-
scale projects locally. However, those were not in their routine practices and they did not
continue it for a long while. This has been confirmed by 78.79% of the total respondents.
According to the next feedbacks received from the respondents, measures considered by the
management of Premier Choice Telecom can be effective enough for their growth and natural
welfare at the same time. 24 of the total respondents support this answer, which is 72.73% to
be exact. It is evident enough to understand the vision of their customers too. In this regard,
another question was asked to them, where 84.85% of the total respondents had agreed for
the possible success of the project.
Qualitative analysis was also conducted for this research where 3 of their managers had been
asked 3 different question. The first question was regarded with the influence behind
initiating the project. All the managers have agreed that they have been planning for it since
last few months. The first manager was found hopeful enough about the success of the
project, as they conducted extensive research works in this regard. It has also been confirmed
by the other managers as well, when they said about the priority of this project for their future
success. The third manager had confirmed that they have a structured framework, with which
they can run this project for the next days ahead.
P6 Recommendation based on research and data analysis
Premier Choice Telecom has massive potential for their future growth if they peruse this
project and run it in their future years. The quantitative and qualitative research conducted
here is vivid enough to project the possible outcomes from this project. At the beginning of
the research, the respondents have confirmed that the management had no other way left
except implicating this project. It also showed that they have lagged in this context in last few
years. Thus, they need to focus on this part effectively and monitor the outcomes of it for a
certain while. Monitoring the effects is highly recommended so that they can proceed for the
next ventures. Further survey is also recommended to gain feedbacks from the customers
whether they are happy with the project or not. Managers of this organisation are also
recommended to keep prior notes on it for their research works.
