INTRODUCTION
CSR is the activity which is done for the betterment of the society as well as for the
development. It is important as well as mandatory for the company to conduct the CSR
events. Through the CSR activity the sustainable objective can be achieved because it is
directly linked with the development and growth of the individual living in the country. This
report will help the reader to understand the importance and the effectiveness of the CSR
activity in the organization. Through the government rule, it is important but there are
different types of methods which can be adopted by the firm to perform the activity.
Rockpool Digital is the organization which will be selected as it is the digital organization
which carries out the functions regarding digitalization (Lam and Khare, 2010). Besides this,
the clients are the big organization who is taking the help of this organization in increasing
the market share. This has helped the firm in growing the customer base. Besides this, they
carry out the CSR activity which has helped the society a lot. This report will talk about the
project management plan and the activity which will occur in carrying out the project.
Further, questionnaire will be made through which the survey will be conducted regarding
CSR activities in developing competitive advantage (Ajmal, Helo and Kekäle 2010). The
respondents will be employees who are working in the company.
TASK 1
P1 aims and objective
Rockpool Digital is the organization which provides digitalized services to the
customers. They are famous for providing digital experience by giving them opportunity to
expand their business in the digital world. The organization has captured the digital market
by rendering them effective services. Further Rockpool Digital has helped the business to
grow by giving them the huge customer base through digitalization. There are few employees
in the organization and they are famous for the innovative ideas which the manpower is
providing to their customers. Through their digitalization process, the organization has
achieved huge results. They have increased the sales of the client firm. Besides this, they
have helped the Sainsbury organization to increase their customer base by providing them
with the ideas on promoting online shopping to their friends, family etc by giving them with

vouchers and Nectar points. This way they have increased the market of big entity and they
are providing their services effectively with the motive of development.

Background of the project: CSR is the activity which is carried out by the organization for
the society development. It is basically done for up-liftment of the people. It is said that if the
organization’s revenue is good then they can provide the society with benefits by conducting
the program which can give advantage to the people. In this report, the concept will be
studied thoroughly. With the increasing competition and need for the society development,
the organizations are required to conduct the CSR activity (Eckerson, 2010). This helps in
developing the goodwill of the Rockpool Digital and further it will create a positive image in
the minds of the customers. On the other hand, the government has also made mandatory for
the organization to conduct the program which can assist in development of the individual.
Along with this, it is required by the firm to donate the amount to the charity organization as
this is also considered as the CSR activity (Wheelen and Hunger, 2011). Besides this, with
the increasing competition, the organization by carrying out the CSR activity can establish
their competitive advantage. The main reason for conducting the research is that the need of
CSR activities has increased because the society needs development. Further, on the point of
view of the firms, the organization can develop positive image in the minds of the customers.

Breakdown of the structure is essential in carrying out the activities of the
organization effectively. Breakdown helps in forming a particular structure which will help in
planning the activity effectively. As Rockpool is the digital organization so there are different
types of activities which are required to perform. But if it is performed individuals then the
task will be completed on time. With the breakdown of the activity, the organization can
effectively allocate the task to their employees who are expert in their field as it will assist the
organization in getting the perfect work done. Even with the breakdown, the Rockpool
Digital can allot the time in which they are required to be completed. This will aid the
organization in managing the work in a proper. Further, with the assistance of this the
organization can make the proper plan which can assist in effectively managing the task.

P4 Small scale research by applying the qualitative and quantitative method
For carrying out the research in the organization, it is important for the company to
adopt both the qualitative as well as the quantitative method. Through these methods only,
the topic of the research can be studied in effective manner. The data is collected by applying
two methods one is qualitative and the other is quantitative method. In the qualitative method,
thematic analysis will be carried out. In this method, themes will be made which will help in
making the research specific in nature. Besides this, evidence will be given through the
charts, graph and the tables as it will be effectively in analyzing the specific response of the
individual. For making the theme, primary data will be collected for analyzing the response
of the individuals. This is effective because it will help in getting the authentic matter for
carrying out the research. Besides this, secondary data will also be used for gathering the data
regarding the CSR activities. In this, books, journal, online sources will be referred for
seeking the data. The data which will be collected will be analyzed. These all the information

will aid in reaching at the appropriate result which will be effective in drawing the
conclusion. As CSR activities are carried out in the present time nowadays so authentic data
will be available.
In the primary research, the questionnaire will be adopted as a tool for collecting the
information regarding the CSR activities which are carried out in the Rockpool Digital. The

organization follow the CSR activities which has helped the organization in their growth and
development. Out of 10 of employees, 8 workers believe that they are keen in performing the
social responsibility which can help the society in the development. On the other hand, there

majority of them, the employees have seen that they directly or indirectly contribute in the

advantage in the market. As it works in the field of digitalization so it is essential for the
organization to create competitive advantage. Besides this, out of 10 employees, 5 of the
workers have agreed upon the concept that through conducting CSR activity, the Rockpool

programs, the society believes that the organization is concerned of the society so they value

performed by the organization as their CSR activity. Out of the 10 employees, 6 of them
believe that the company gives funds to the educational institute who are rendering digital
knowledge to the individual. The reason is they feel that the scope is huge in this field and
even the firm is required to create awareness in this field. But there are 2 workers who say
that the firm donate the amount to the charity and the needy institutions who need finance for
carrying out their day to day activities in the company. On the other hand, 1-1 individuals

The major problem which the firm is facing in the organization is regarding the
participation of the employees. They do not participate in the activity which is carried out by
the Rockpool Digital. They feel that it is waste of time and they do not show interest or take
initiative in the process. If the human resources are not interested in conducting the activity

With the changing trend and increasing environmental problem, the Rockpool
Digital needs to conducts the CSR policy regarding the environmental so that they can
safeguard the environment from the harm which is created by the human beings. Out of 10
workers 5 of them believes that protecting the environment is the issue which can be
effectively addressed because of the increasing demand. On the other hand, 3 of the
employees state that child labour is another issue which needs to be taken care as compare to
the environmental problem. Besides this, due to increasing crime of women, the company
should address those issues as it will be beneficial for the society.

P5 analyzing the research and data by using appropriate tools and techniques
 Research design: The research design is one of the important areas of the research as
through design only further; research will be carried out in the organization. This is
essential as through this only the researcher can identify the way which can lead to the
exact conclusion. There are several types of research design according to their nature.
The research designs are exploratory, descriptive, experimental as well as exploratory
design. But according to the design and type of this project, descriptive design will be
adopted so that the proper conclusion can be made.
 Research philosophy: there are basically two types of research philosophy one is the
Interpretivism and other is the Positivism. In the Interpretivism philosophy,
interpretation will be conducted on the basis of the data which has been collected by
the researcher. This is helpful in analyzing the results which will be depicted through

the data. In this case, the appropriate results can be gathered as interpretation is the
best way to study the data of the respondents.
 Collection of data: in case of the data collection, two methods will be applied in
collected the data. One is the primary and the other is the secondary. In the primary
data, questionnaire is made and the authentic information will be collected. In case of
the secondary data, books, journal, online will be surveyed and from them the
researcher will analyze the authentic information which will be used in the study for
implementing the CSR activity for attaining the sustainable objectives.
 Data analysis: It is one of the most crucial tasks for the researcher because the results
of the firm are dependent on the data which will be collected by the respondents. For
collecting the data, thematic analysis will be used in the research as it will help in
effectively forming the conclusion. With thematic analysis, the data will be depicted
with the help of graph so that the result can be drawn easily.
 Limitations: There are some limitations which come at the time of carrying out the
study. One of the limitations which are seen is the time. There is less time given to
carry out the study but for analyzing the data the researchers are require more time.
Another limitation is that it becomes sometimes difficult to gather the authentic data
regarding the topic.
P6 Recommendations for implementing the CSR activities
From the above data analysis, it can be recommended that it is necessary for the
organization to carry out the CSR activity for the firm. It will help in developing competitive
advantage of the firm. Besides this, there are different methods which can help in conducting
the CSR activities. Rockpool Digital can carry out the CSR activity by engaging with the
charitable organization because they are in need of the finance. Besides this, they can also
conduct the CSR program like they can organize programs for the individual in the society
(Fieseler and Fleck 2013). On the other hand, as it is the renowned organization, so it will be
easy for the firm to conduct digital programs which can help the individual in gaining the
knowledge regarding the digital media. As per the graph survey, it is recommended that the
Rockpool Digital should conduct the CSR activity on the issue of protecting the environment
because it is needed by the society to perform the activity which can make the individual
aware regarding the same. Further, another way is that they can collect the funds from the
individual by organizing some of the activity and donate it for some of the social cause.

P7 Reflective report
From this report, I have gained knowledge regarding the CSR activities which are
conducted in the organization. I never knew that they are so important for the organization.
Through this survey I came to know that if it is carried out in the appropriate manner then the
government will also support the firm in the activities which are carried out in the
organization. On the other hand, for filling the questionnaire was a great experience for me
because I have never applied live survey in the report. Besides this, there were several areas
in which I gained knowledge. Further, by doing data analysing and making the graph it
helped me in identifying the software which can be used for attaining the best results. Even I
developed the time management skills as I completed the project in time which was a great
achievement for me because I have always delayed my work. Further, through this report I
came to know that Rockpool Digital have always supported the CSR activities which helped
in development of the society.
CONCLUSION
From this report it can be concluded that CSR activity is important for the
organization as well as beneficial for them. It is advantageous for both the parties. From this
it can be articulated that Rockpool Digital follow the CSR policy effectively and due to this
reason only they have made effective image in the minds of the customers. On the other hand,
it has been believed that they are focusing more on building the competitive advantage due
by conducting the CSR activities. Besides this, through the data analysis it can be said that
employees wants their organization to perform the CSR activity on the environmental
protection so that the individual can be made aware regarding the issue. Last but not the least
it can be inferred that human resource department are required to conduct these types of
activity because they are the one are responsible for managing the outside and inside
functions performed by the organization.
