1SUMMARY OF PPT (CULTURAL CARE)
Chinese (PPT 1)
In this presentation it is about the cultural orientation of varied Chinese, Taiwanese cultures
with reference to the habits as well as the language. As an Asian Vietnamese my culture has
close alignment with the Chinese culture, for example, there is bonding between the Asian
families, and dietary measures for example we rely on fish and lots of sea foods, same as
Taiwanese. Having said that there are few differences. Some of the religious values are same
as well, for example we believe in Buddhism, Confucianism and some people believe in
Taoism. For example the language barrier, Vietnamese language is different from Hakka or
Taiwanese or Mandarin. Since, family is an important component of any Chinese culture,
therefore, patient consent has to be handled transparently.
German Culture (PPT 2)
In this presentation, Germanic Culture, has been displayed and from the presentation it could
be understood that it is very different from my culture. As Vietnamese, we are through our
lives are intricately bonded to our families, however, when it comes to the German Culture,
they are more, self-reliant and after a certain point they want to go about their lives
exclusively independent. The German way of using traditional medicinal plants and herbs are
very different from that of Vietnam. It could be inferred that the German people are built to
be mentally very strong as well as with dignity, however, this can be leading to social stigma
when it comes to mental health problems. Self-medication and loosing “manhood” should not
be an option for prostate cancer, however, the patient consent has to be respected.
Korean Culture (PPT 3)
The given PPT described about the Korean culture, and its approaches towards disease, life
and culture as a whole. It could be understood that, Korean culture is very similar, to the
Vietnamese beliefs and traditions, for example, Buddhism, Christianity and Confucius’s
beliefs are applied to both cultures. The funeral rituals and the belief system is also same as to
ours. Language, is a linguistic barrier. When it comes to the Han bang and other religious
processes is similar to our culture as well. However, in the given case study, the 17 years old
patient needs psychological counselling more than the drug therapy. It is to be understood
that here, the patient has to be educated which has to be culturally aligned so that the client
sees reasons to take his medicines properly.
Hispanic Culture (PPT 4)

2SUMMARY OF PPT (CULTURAL CARE)
In the given Hispanic culture, it could be understood that there are certain points where it is
very different to my culture, however, there are certain pints where my culture is similar.
There is a linguistic difference between my cultural and Hispanic culture. The way of eating,
dressing and their way of using herbal traditions are also there. Though use of traditional
medicines is there in my culture as well, but their herbs and implantations are different from
Vietnamese. There eating and drinking habits are different as well. It was not known to me
that bury the placenta and umbilical cord to avoid negativity. Their language and their
perception healing and medicines are different, hence they should be properly consulted with
the help of interpreter and translator.
