INTRODUCTION
The presentation focused on international business communication of British and
Bangladeshi people and evaluated the awareness of British people about the cultural differences
within Bangladesh when doing international business.
I first focused on defining the culture to make sure that before focusing on cultural
differences in should know about the culture in which I learned that customs beliefs and social
behaviour of people represents culture. Moreover, I focused on the concept which is same people
with same belief's language and habits in a group is demonstrated as culture (Csikszentmihalyi,
2014).
Culture of Britain
In British culture, I enhanced my knowledge like the most people in British culture are
Christians and uses both styles of communication that is under statement and direct
communication (Dalley and Rappoport, 2013).
Bangladeshi Culture
In this learned that the culture of Bangladeshi people is of Muslim majority and mostly
people use Bangla language for communication (Karim and Nigar, 2014). It was interesting to
know that the Bangladeshi society and business organisation make use of hierarchical structure
for communication.
Why British need to be aware about the cultural difference when doing business in Bangladesh
It is important for the British society to be aware about the cultural differences because
while doing presentation, I evaluated that most of the British people are expanding their business
by tapping into Bangladesh because it has been determined that in Bangladesh there is huge
demand for British products and technological equipments. I was amazed to learn that people of
Bangla society do not have transparency in system due to which society faces the burden of
bureaucracy.
Cultural differences between two countries
Apparently, while doing presentation I learned about the cultural differences between
British and Bangladesh which states that employees in Bangladesh are not allowed to participate
in decision making process whereas the British society supports the participation of employees in
decision making process. In accordance, I learned that according to British society involving

staff members in decision making assist in making effective solutions to various internal
problems.
Different area where British had made negotiation with Bangladesh in order to conduct business
I evaluated the negotiation strategies used by British society that is communication,
bargaining, sharing information, agreement, contracts, respect and trust worthy relationships.
Nevertheless, the presentation concluded with example of structure followed by British retail
industry that is Flat structure where every one is allowed to interact with each other and
employees work at same level (Abdullah, Boyle and Joham, 2011).
Culture Difference of two nations with the help of model.
While doing presentation I learned about the Kluckholn and Strodtbeck's style which
demonstrate cultural differences by two elements that is human nature and man nature
relationships (Hofstede, 2011). In human nature, it has been determined that British people are
very generous and polite when it comes to cooperating and coordinating while the people of
Bangladesh are well behaved but not generous. However, people in UK are friendly and works at
same level whereas Bangladeshi people are dominant in nature.
CONCLUSION
The presentation outlined all the cultural differences among people which occur at the
time of international business communication (Deresky, 2010).
