Mapping Our World: Reflecting on Zetland's International Presence

This assignment involves creating a digital map of Zetland, Australia, highlighting six sites that represent the suburb's international connections and cultural diversity. Description of Sites Selected
There are six sites that are referenced in the map. The first site is East Village Shopping
Center that provides the ultimate shopping experience to Zetland residents. The center shelters
sellers and commodities from all over the world; as such, people looking to purchase rare items
from other parts of the globe are able to find them here. This collection of international
commodities allows for the interaction of different cultures, making East Village Shopping
Center a good place for people of different nationalities to converge. The second site is Little
Piazza Bar & Grill, this is an Italian-owned restaurant that provides both local and Italian
cuisines to the people of Zetland. This place serves as a congregation point for people who want
to sample Italian dishes and mingle with other like-minded individuals. The restaurant serves as
a great place for people from different cultural backgrounds to meet-up and have fun together.
The Matron Ruby Grant Park is a good place for individuals and their families to go to and have
fun and make memories. The park serves as a meeting point for families with diverse cultural
backgrounds and the desire to interact with other people regardless of their nationality.
Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre is one of the few water themed fun and
relaxation facilities in Sydney and the only one of its kind in Zetland. The facilities is reputed for
offering above standard service to customers from all over the world. Tourists visiting Australia
can be found here enjoying themselves alongside the local residents. As such, this aquatic and
recreation center acts as an avenue for people from different parts of the world to meet and
converse allowing for attendants to experience different cultures (Staff, 2017). Green Square

community and cultural precinct is a reclaim heritage-listed building that allows residents and
visitors to Zetland to come together and express their creativity in a number of fun activities. The
local government considers Green Square community and cultural precinct a great place for
people to meet up and have fun together as a means of fostering communal harmony and a sense
of oneness/unity (Staff C. , 2018). The final site on the map is Sullivan+Strumpf which is an art
gallery that deals and displays artistic works from all over the world. The art gallery is a great for
art enthusiasts in Zetland to visit and discuss the different pieces of art being showcased. The
gallery also offers affairs that exhibit art from different parts of the world.
