Content Design
The basic purpose of the event is to plan a grand wedding between two people belonging
to two different cultures (Indian groom and Nigeria bride). Groom’s name is Mr. Neel Malhotra
and Bride’s name is Jessica Bello. Neel is 35 years old from Delhi, India and Jessica is 30 years
old from South Nigeria. Both of them met in London in a University in which both of them were
pursuing their higher studies. It has been 5 years since they have been together before deciding to
marry each other.

Theme Design and Plan
The wedding has been planned to take place in winter that is in December. The season is
perfect for the wedding and it is considered a one of the suitable wedding month among Indians.
The theme of the wedding will be Indo-western, keeping in mind both the culture and tradition
goals. The wedding will take place in both the culture that is Nigerian as well as Indian. Ring
ceremony will take place in a Nigerian culture in which both the couple will be dressed in
Nigerian costume. In the evening Indian tradition wedding will take place in which the couple
will be dressed in Indian attires. Thus on the wedding day the couple will dress up two times
according to the tradition and customs. The color chosen for the indo-western theme will be
purple, pink and white to match the style of both the culture. The theme of the wedding has been
set keeping in mind the needs of the culture and from prior approval from both the bride and
groom’s family (Jiang and Schmader 2014).
Program Design
With prior discussion with the clients and considering their budget and guests counts, the
Coworth Park in London has been chosen as the venue for the wedding. The venue has been
decided according to the theme and budget of both the families. Coworth Park is a wedding
destination located about 25 kilometers away from London and is one of the most preferred
wedding venues in London. The venue has been chosen in order arrange an adequate
arrangement for the guests. As the number of guests is going to more from both the sides, the
floor arrangement will provide ample space for the ceremony (Dowson and Bassett 2015). The
venue is one of the luxurious hotels of London with spa and polo grounds. The guests will get
the chance of enjoying these extra facilities while attending the wedding. The resort also has
their own restaurant and bars for the guests to enjoy. It is a perfect venue for the Punjabi groom

family and the Nigerian family to interact and enjoy the special occasion. The venue has also
been chosen so that the guests coming to London from both the families can be easily
accommodated. The destination will be decorated with special touch of both the culture in an
indo-western pattern (Bertella 2017).
The above picture shows the floor plan for the wedding in the Coworth Park with dance
floor, cake table, guests sitting arrangement, buffet, bar and a stage for Indian wedding
ceremony.

The picture shows the entrance design of the Coworth Park on the wedding day. The
main entrance as well as the entrance of the hotel both will be decorated with the planned theme
color. As the theme is indo-western, the planned color for the wedding is according to the needs
of both the tradition. The decoration and planning is done to easily accommodate 400 guests.
Some more pictures will follow to show the decoration pattern (Daniels and Loveless 2013).

Multicultural wedding
Both the pictures show the decoration of
the eating area for the guests. The
decoration will be done in purple because
the chosen color for the party was purple,
white and pink, to suit the needs of the
indo-western theme. Each table will have
ten sitting arrangement so that all guests
find themselves comfortable. Each table
will have classy cutlery and wine glasses
with other required things.

The mode of transport in which
the groom will come to the
ceremony will be a horse carriage
that suits the indo-western theme
of the wedding. The couple will
then go together in this carriage
after the ceremony is over.
The decoration of the mandap will
be similar o the purple indo western
theme. The mandap will be used for
the Indian wedding ceremony in
which the couple will take the
wows of being together for lifetime.
The Indian ceremony will start after
the ring ceremony from the Bride
side (Raj, Walters and Rashid
2017).

Ring ceremony will be followed by cake
cutting ceremony and will be of
Nigerian style. The cake will also be of
purple color keeping in mind the theme
of the wedding. It will be followed by
opening of the champagne. Indian
wedding customs will take place after
the ring ceremony is over. Everything
will be in purple, pink and white color
as the couples agreed.
The picture beside depicts the stage
decoration on which the couples will sit
before and after the ceremony takes place.
The stage decoration too will be of indo-
western style with some Indian traditional
touch to make the couples feel
comfortable. Flowers are used to match
the Indian tradition and the sitting
arrangement is made according to western
culture (Islam 2016).

Catering Design
Catering is one of the most important aspects of any wedding and needs to be planned in
a very special manner. The catering needs to be planned for 400 guests attending the wedding
ceremony. The menu of the wedding will be decided according to the demographic structure of
the guests. Among 400 guests, 250 will be adults, 100 will be children and 50 elderly from both
the families. Thus, the menu for the wedding will be planned to suit the budget as well as the
preference of all age group. As both the cultures are very different, there should be items from
both the cultures so that all guests are satisfied after attending the ceremony. The hotel will offer
complementary drinks to all guests from their end and prior consulting the families will plan rest
of the food (Guan, Luo and Tang 2015).
