INTRODUCTION
Culture is one of the most affective aspects that deal with various kinds of trend that is
followed within a country, locality or state. Such activities are included in culture dealing
through religion, cast, social habits and language. Culture in other sense means any kind of social
conduct that has to be followed by people living in the society. Also culture makes development
of unique patterns related to social aspiration of an individual living in particular locality.
Culture covers wider scope as it mainly deals with sensitive elements existing in society. Nature
of culture is dynamic as it deals over various unfolded aspects that is known by people living in
that locality. In this cross cultural studies in relation to Japan’s hospitality industry is to be
discussed with behaviour and custom.

The Japanese spirit of hospitality known as Omontenashi has been recognized all over the
world for excellent services that is provided by them. In recent years there has been increase in
internationals tourists visiting Japan. Tourists for all over world is been visiting Japan by
increasing popularity of Japanese tourism. Due to tourist from all over world visiting Japan cross
culture has been developed in Japan. Researches of recent times have shown that different
cultural backgrounds made expectations and arguably with satisfaction upon factors used in
development of hospitality (Moore, 2018). A study over cross culture with difference between
Japanese and Western culture after increasing of tourism in Japan is been done due to hospitality
environment provided by them. It can be found that tourists is less concerned with hospitality in
Japan and more with quality of services provided by them to tourists visiting from other
countries. These tourists have faced best experiences and also staffs have been nice with them on
their part of performing duty. Certain tourists have faced negative instances like dirty rooms and
smell of cigarettes in certain hotels in Japan. One of the most important features in the hospitality
of Japan is tea ceremony, preparation of sushi in front of customers. In this openness is been
shown and diverseness is shown through improvising experience of customers. People of Japan
say that omontenashi is one of the best hospitalities all over world. Omotenashi can also be
appreciated through other thoughtful acts here. For instance, the temperature of sushi rice is
adjusted to match with the taste of different fishes; sushi is always dressed with the ideal amount

of sauce and seasonings, so guests do not need to decide how much is right. Not to mention the
sequence of sushi is deliberately thought out.
In Japan omotenashi has taken deep roots within its culture of tourism but still not every
hotel in Japan follows this in proper manner. Only few hotels are there that follows this culture in
its purest form. Omotenashi is one-way concern and in this respect is been given priority. Also it
can be observed that privilege over serving guest should be done with respect. The culture is of
old origin and has taken its roots within Japan. It has make sure that its key specialty and
delicacy is been protected. From a report it’s shown that customer’s shows respect over Japanese
culture. People of Japan has considered their hospitality culture to be there pride that makes it
more popular all over the world (Parks, 2020).
