Cultural awareness is that knowledge among the individuals through which they can
distinguish one culture from another culture. In a simple word it can be said that cultural
awareness is the sensitivity to the similarity's and differences that exist between two different
culture (Harvey and Allard, 2015). Cultural awareness is the knowledge and understanding of
cultural differences and history through which anyone can differentiate one culture from another
one. On the other hand cultural safety is that aspect which involves actions that recognises,
respect and nurture the unique cultural identity of a person and safety meet their needs,
expectation and rights. It is an environment which is safe for persons and in this environment
there is no assault, challenges or denial of their identity of who they are and what they need. In
this environment, every one is protected as they have no need to prove their identity because
their culture reflects their social value, norms, region, background etc.
Question 3 Explanation about the impact of Aboriginal and Torres strait islander cultures on the
service delivery
Aboriginal and Torres strait islander are those people within the Australian who
descended from groups that existed in the Australia and surrounding islands prior to British
colonisation. Australia's indigenous people are two distinct cultural groups made up of aboriginal
and Torres strait islander peoples (Barak, 2013). This diversity can hugely affect the service
delivery among these cultural people. At the time of deliver product and services to these two
group of people in the Australia, company have requirement to understand the culture of these
group. Community service provider need to be aware of and acknowledge this history of
aboriginal and Torres strait islander so that they can fully understand the actual requirement and
needs of their customers in this culture. Organisation should give training to community service
workers to raise the awareness of the history and current circumstances of aboriginal and Torres
strait islander people.
Question 6 How community services can be encouraged and improved
In order to encourage and improve the community services within the aboriginal and
Torres strait islanders culture, following methods can be used-

1. Communicate about volunteer opportunities- This is the best way to encourage the
community services in the country. With help of this way, corporation can provide
information about the opportunities of voluntarism.
2. Engage community member in learning about community issues- By provide awareness
about community issue, company can able to improve community services within the
country. It should provide information about existing issues and problem within the
country about economic, environment, social etc (Guillaume and et.al., 2014).
3. Provides rewards- Financial compensation is the best way to encourage community
services. While volunteers gets the rewards and financial benefits then they can more
encourage for deliver community services.
