INTRODUCTION
Heritage tourism is refers to activity conducted by visitors at cultural place and at other
destinations. This type of tourism has major effect on culture, environment and also on society.
Heritage and culture tourism aims at protecting and maintaining the nature beauty of historical
monuments or places. It is also concerned with identifying the suitable ways for reducing the
negative effect of tourism or visitors action on society and culture. Other objective of tourism
management is to provide memorable experience to visitors. This management system in tourism
industry intends to motivate travellers to visit particular destination.
Heritage tourism management is supported by government in the country. As this is the
field in tourism sector which is contributing towards economic development of country. This is
the industry which has contributed a lot towards development of opportunities for domestic
people.
Purpose of the report is to developing the understanding about cultural and heritage
tourism. It emphasizes on analysing the growth of such tourism. Project will have focus on
identifying roles as well as responsibilities of companies in the heritage and cultural industry.
TASK 1
1.1 Growth and development of heritage and cultural sector in tourism industry
Heritage and Cultural tourism in travel industry has play major and important role in
bringing improvement in the country. It has also contributed a lot towards economic
development of nation. It has provided government an opportunity to earn high income and
generate more revenue through tourism activities. Development of heritage and cultural sites has
supported tour and travel companies to attract more number of tourists. Cultural activities and
improvement in heritage sites has enabled tourism sector to foster success and foster success. As
tourism sector is contributing towards welfare of country, it is supported by government .Legal
authorities has assisted travel and tourism industry by providing them with infrastructure
facilities which has supported firm in delivering various facilities and services to visitors. Laws,
regulation and norms developed by legal authority has also allowed travel and touristy company
to manager and control tourism activities (Moutinho, 2011) It has provided organisation with
suitable way to ensure effective as well efficiently utilisation of resources which can be used for

making improvement in quality of products and services that are delivered by travel industry.
Infrastructural facilities provided by government has enabled firm to explore and capture
growths and expansion opportunities. There are several benefits' heritage and cultural
management. It enables travel companies to recognise the effective measure or methods for
protecting or preserving the historical and cultural places. Heritage and cultural management
majorly contributes to the improvement in quality of product or services provided by tourism
industry to visitors (Moutinho, 2011)It also intends to promote community identity. Cultural and
heritage tourism management has more importance and value as compared to the other
industries. This is the sector which contribute to generation of employment for local people and
economic development of the country. This is only the major source of revenue generation by
government which are further used for bringing improvement in the country. The income earned
by legal authority from this sector is also utilised for maintaining the beauty of heritage and
cultural places. The expenditure that has been incurred on the heritage and cultural activity by
government is approx. 26.9 Percent annually. This activity of legal authority help organisation in
increasing its income, profitability and sales. There are several types of heritage and cultural
tourisms sites such as build, natural and living heritage that involves historic building,
forest,museum, and traditional craft centre as well as festivals. Heritage and cultural tourism
industry in UK is growing at high rate as compared to other sectors. The industry can generate
several business opportunities by providing quality services or products to visitors. There are
number of cultural places in UK these are South bank C enter, national gallery, Somerset House,
Coca Cola London etc. The various heritage place in UK are Castles , museums, Ancient Britain,
etc. The other objective of tourism management is to support travel and tourism industry in
promoting their products or services. Hotels, Transportation and construction are the sectors
supported by the tourism industry in terms of their development and growth
(Puzakova, Kwak and Rocereto, 2009)

on natural beauty of the place. Travellers actions can damage the assets. People in the country
may face issues in protecting, preserving and managing cultural as well as heritage sites.

Public Organisation- In UK some of cultural and Heritage sites are managed by the
government authorities. Revenue earned by the government in the country is utilised for
development and management of various cultural and historical places. These types of
enterprise are dependent on funds that is earned by legal authority through tourism activity.

and heritage places. The other objectives is to attract more number of tourist and provide
