Introduction – UK Culture
• The corporate culture of the consulting agency is considerably
influenced by the culture of the United Kingdom as the head
office of the organization takes place in the mentioned nation.
• The value dimensions like Power Distance, Individualism,
Masculinity, Uncertainty Avoidance, Long Term Orientation and
Indulgence of the culture and the society are significant in
stating the impact of the culture on the organization (Dartey-
Baah 2013).
• UK as a country scores 35,89,66,35,51 and 69 in Power
Distance, Individualism, Masculinity, Uncertainty Avoidance,
Long Term Orientation and Indulgence respectively (Hofstede-
insights.com. 2018).

UK and Brazil
o The people of UK is observed to believe that there should not be any sort inequality
among the people and on the other hand, Brazil has positive impression for the
hierarchy and the existence of the inequality among the people.
o UK is significantly individualist country while the people of Brazil believes in the
collectivism (Uz 2014).
o UK is comparatively more driven by the competition, success, achievement or the
urge to become the best compared to Brazil.

 UK with a low score on the uncertainty avoidance is not too
much influenced with the results that they will be able to
achieve at the end of he day or with the changes in the plans
whereas Brazil is observed to be significantly affected with
the changes.
 UK as a country is seen to score 51 in the long term
orientation and thus does not provide any dominant
preferences in the Long Term Orientation. Brazil with the
score of 44, shows almost same characteristics.
 UK and Brazil bot the countries are considered as indulgent
societies.

UK and Germany
 The people of UK is observed to believe that there should not be any sort inequality among the people and
similarly the people of Germany are also seen to be significantly liking the hierarchical model in the
organizations.
 UK is significantly individualist country while the society in Germany is comparatively less individualist
in nature.
 Unlike Brazil, Germany is observed to match UK in the masculinity index with an exact score of 66. Both
the societies are observed to be notably masculine in nature (Hofstede-insights.com. 2018).

UK and Germany
Unlike UK, Germany is an uncertainty avoidant
country where the people are significantly influenced
with changes and unknown situations in front of them.
While the moderate or intermediate score of UK is
unable to comment on UK’s preferences in the index
of the long term orientation, the score of 83 of
Germany portrays it to be a pragmatic country.
The German society is significantly restrained
compared to the UK and portrays the tendency of the
cynicism and pessimism.

UK and Japan
 The country UK and the people of the concerned society consider that any sort of differences or
inequalities should not be present among the employees or the people. While Japan is observed to be
a country which is considered as the borderline hierarchy society with a score of 54.
 The Japanese society is observed to be significantly collectivist in nature where the pref4rences for
the people is “we” rather than “I”. On the other hand, Britain is observed to be highly individualist
society.
 The masculinity index of the nation is significantly high and higher compared to UK and that proves
the fact that the country and the people of it is significantly aim oriented.

UK and Japan
Unlike the British society, the Japanese society is observed to be
highly influenced with the uncertainty of the future and the
outcomes.
While the moderate score of the British society is unable to
portray any strong preferences, the score of 88 of Japanese
society in the index of Long term orientation clarifies the fact
that the people of the mentioned country considers their life to be
a very short moment in the long history of the mankind
(Robinson et al. 2013).
However, the Japanese culture is observed to be significantly
restrained compared to UK and it also shows the tendency of the
cynicism and pessimism.

Summary
Hence form the rating of the various aspects of the value dimensions, it is evident that
Brazil has higher preferences for the inequality compared to any other country.
The British society is seen to be the most individualist country compared to the other
countries.
In the masculinity index, the Japanese society is observed to be the highest and that
shows their intention of becoming the best in everything (Rees-Caldwell and
Pinnington 2013).
Compared to the countries like UK, Brazil and Germany, Japanese society is
predominant in the index of long term orientation and the uncertainty avoidance.
Apart from this, the British society is considered as the most indulgent society among
the four.
Hence it is visible that the reflection of the regional or national culture will be
significantly different at times to the corporate culture of the organization which
includes the reflection of British society.
