INTRODUCTION
Curriculum development is a step by step process which is used to create positive improvements
in courses offered by school or university (Moon, 2021). There are some ways for curriculum
development related to reception teacher area in primary school. The report examines, analysis
of theories and models of curriculum development related to reception teacher area in a primary
school. Different ways in which theories and models of curriculum development can be applied
in developing area of reception teacher in primary school.
PART- A
A reception teacher in a primary school is responsible for development of children. It
includes emotional, social and educational development of children between three and five years
old. A teacher should provide good education to children and develop skills which is essential for
their growth and helps in future development. it is important to apply theories and models of
curriculum development of reception teacher in primary school so that they can provide good
education to children and develop skills. Reception teacher is responsible for assessing
performance of children, record and report on development (Ten Cate and et.al., 2018). They
should use development process or system to improve performance of children. Teachers should
interact with parents and give details about children’s progress and development.
Curriculum development is a process by which improvements can be done in performance
and different ways can be selected for providing education to children in primary school. It is the
responsibility of teacher to learn some innovative ways by which they can provide education to
children and understand way of teaching. Curriculum development is the process which helps in
improving educational system and children can get good education. There are different theories
and models which can be applied for curriculum development related to reception teacher area in
a primary school. Theories of curriculum development are, Ralph Tyler theory which is related
to basic principles of curriculum and instruction, Hilda Taba theory of curriculum development
and Lawrence Stenhouse. These are some theories which help in curriculum development of
reception teacher so that better services can be provided to children (Akhmetshin and et.al.,
2019).
Children in primary school should get proper education so that they can learn new things
and develop skills which is essential for their growth. There are different models of curriculum

development which helps in developing skills of teacher so that they can provide good education
to children of age group three to five years. Process model and product model, these are two
models for curriculum development which is beneficial in growth of teacher. Ralph Tyler theory
is a theory of curriculum development which is about basic principles and instruction for
students to give them idea about principles. This theory has some components like, objectives,
activities, organisation of activities and evaluation.
. According to Tyler model four steps should be followed for curriculum development and
helps in making positive improvements so that students can learn new things and develop skills
which is beneficial for their growth. There are four basic principles according to Ralph Tyler i.e.,
stating the objectives, selecting learning experiences, organising learning experiences and
evaluating the curriculum. These principles help in development as a reception teacher area in a
primary school. There are other models and theories which can be applied for curriculum
development of reception teacher in primary school but Ralph Tyler theory is best because it
helps in analysing all the points by which improvement can be done.
Theories of curriculum development
Ralph Tyler Theory- Ralph theory of curriculum development means to make plans for
improving teaching practice as a reception teacher to provide good education to students at
primary school. There are four components according to Ralph i.e., objectives, activities,
organisation and evaluation. This help reception teacher in improving performance and better
education is provided to students. With the help of these components teachers can use good
teaching practice to enhance knowledge of children.
As per Tyler theory learning should be meaningful to student and community, for
designing and organizing further new learning experiences. Teachers have to evaluate
students learning and changes which have to be done. Reception teacher should focus on
children spoken language and teach them diverse new aspects using systematic synthesis
phonics effectively. As working reception teacher there is further extended focus
evolved towards analyzing immediate responses among children, and their functional
learning habits of various activities.
As Tyler theory implementation, I organized creative video learning session for students
which enabled them to learn new things and grasp new learning among studying goals. It

helped students to gain new experience, respond quickly and also enhance specific
functional advanced learning sessions within longer time frame.
Hilda Taba theory- according to this theory, a teacher should use different elements to provide
education to children. A reception teacher is responsible for enhancing knowledge of students
and develop skills wh ih is essential for their growth. Taba created a multipurpose teaching
model which utilise use of different process. this theory help teacher in curriculum development.
As per Hilda Taba model of learnin g, it specifies that there has to be definite order
worked on in creating curriculum for students within new learning aspects. The theory
also signifies enhanced rise on thinking skills of students for extended new situations
within varied changing situations.
By taking practical implementation of this theory based on curriculum development, as
specific teaching learning within reception teaching I was able to bring students learn
new experiences. By responding to specific changes within learning sessions, students
creative ideologies students were able to gain new experience productively on extended
paradigms for improved learning. I while working as reception teacher, further I aim to
bring on advanced learning sessions towards functional improved efficiency.
Models of curriculum development
Process model – this model is developed so that students can learn things in better ways and
teacher should make improvements so that children can enhance their knowledge by learning
new things. Process model is beneficial as it focuses on active roles of teachers and learners,
focus on learning skills, improvements are made so that children can get good education.
Product model – it means to focus on end results, with successful completing things. A
reception teacher is responsible for enhancing knowledge of student and developing skills.
Teachers should conduct some activities like, quiz or games which help in providing good
education to children.

From the above discussion it can be concluded that, curriculum development is important so that
better plans can be made and it helps in improving performance. Teachers should use different
theories and models for improving teaching pattern. This helps in providing good education to
children and they can learn new things.
