The five potential reason why teachers in school might resist the new English curriculum
are first reason is adaptability because it is difficult to for teachers to adapt to new curriculum

González, 2018). The second reason is the depth of the curriculum because it is hard to cover
lengthy syllabus. The third reason is the impact of the curriculum because it creates pressure on
both teachers and students and makes learning becomes difficult under pressure. The fourth one
is teaching effectiveness because the change in curriculum sometimes affect the teachers
effectiveness due to broad and long curriculum (Liddicoat, 2019). The fifth reason is insecurity
of job because change in curriculum sometimes need teacher with more skills which creates job
insecurity for the existing teachers in school.
These resistance can be overcome by takings different steps like implementing the curriculum
after discussing it with the teachers and formulate strategies to make students and teachers
comfortable with the new curriculum. The school have to know the needs of the teachers before
implementing the new curriculum.
