In this paper, I would discuss in detail about the most influential incidents that
occurred during this project ‘Information for Managerial Use’. This paper would reflect the
whole journey of this project from the group formation to the final report presentation. I
would like to discuss the issue, how it influenced my approach towards the project and what
impact it had on me. In the course of the project, I felt that this is the best way of designing
any group project. I would discuss the norms of working on a group project.
I was unable to attend my classes at an appropriate time and also missed some
classes. The reason for my irregularity was sickness. I think that this issue of not attending
the regular classes came out as a significant challenge while proceeding with the ‘Information
for Managerial Use' project. Due to this issue, I had to approach the project in a detailed
manner. To understand the project requirements, I took the help of a primary communication
method for acquiring the required details. It would have taken less time to complete the
project if I could have attended the class on time. I realized that in order to avoid such
situation in future, it would be important to attend regular classes.
I am privileged to have working on this project that allowed me to learn the methods
of data collection. I had no proper understanding of data collection before starting this
‘Information for Managerial Use’ project. I used questionnaires, interviews and media as the
data collection methods for this project. This methods were efficient in understanding the
managerial issue in the context of quantitative data. I have considered the ethical issues while
collecting the data and no one was forced to provide their opinion. I can ensure that the
reliability and the quality of data used is appropriate. I found the questionnaire to be effective
while understanding behaviour and preferences of managerial issue. In the initial stage, it
seemed to me that I would not be able to get the proper methods and data required for the
project. But with the progress in the project, I was able to collect an adequate amount of data.
I think that I could have adopted a different approach to data collection. I could have used

primary source of data or a situational analysis in data collection. I would thus conclude that
collection of data for investigation of a managerial issue.
I would like to put emphasize on the issue of communication gap faced by me during
project. I was provided with a project with group members of different country for the very
first time. I would consider this a weakness of my project course. I am a Chinese and the
group members of my project were from different countries. The majority of my group
partners were Indians, and they were likely to use their language while communicating.
Despite of Communication gap, I shared a cordial relation with my group member. I would
like to state that this project paper is a result of combined effort of all the members. I found
this situation to be difficult and acted as a barrier to communication. I think this issue was not
much effective as we have produced a good project at the end of the course. I might have
approached the situation differently by discussing the issue and sticking to a preferable
language. I think that better communication among the members could have increased the
productivity of the project.
Problem solving model is a step by step process which required specific sets of skills.
It includes control chart, flow diagram, statistical tools and decision making abilities. This
model aims at providing solutions, alternatives and evaluation of the solutions. I found
myself effective while incorporating this functions. Thus I have done the Problem Solving
Model‘s part of the project. I learnt the required methods about the problem solving
technique. I was not very well aware of the structure and consideration while doing the
problem solving model of project. I analysed this model and took the help of my lecturer in
case of any confusion. Problem solving model is a step by step process which required
specific sets of skills. I found myself efficient in providing the model as a part of the project.
The impact of doing this model is that I have developed a proper knowledge about the
problem solving model.

The most critical issue faced during the course of ‘Information for Managerial Use'
project was time management. I noticed that we were inefficient in utilizing time properly. I
found that the data collection and research required a considerable amount of time. It would
have been effective if different portion required to be analysed was assigned to various
members. I would adopt certain measures for time management during project paper in the
future. Breaking the project in small tasks and avoiding procrastination would be the key
methods used by me for time management. I learn that it is liable to rely on the credible
sources while researching. The unreliable sources can be a reason for rework which would
account for the time loss. Thus I have gained experience that would help in time management
in the future.
I would conclude that the course of the project helped me in gaining invaluable
knowledge and experience. I have explained the issues faced during the project and methods
used by me to overcome the issue. This project has helped me to develop a concept about the
opportunities, challenges and problems faced by the managers. I have provided an efficient
evaluation of critical situations. I have also summarized the issues where adopting a
difference approach would have been better. Thus, I can conclude that the overall experience
in the course of the project was virtuous and helped me in acquiring knowledge. The benefit
of the group project was that it developed my intellectual and social skill. I learnt the norms
of team work and collaboration. Thus, I can conclude that the overall experience in the course
