1CYBER SECURITY-RELATED CURRENT EVENT
Facebook data breaches 2019:-
Facebook is an essential application of social media in the world. More than 75% of
people are using this social media for a different purpose. In 2019, this legitimate social media
application was suffering from the most significant data breaches. In this report are briefly
describing these cyber-security events and global impact.
On the 16th September, 2019 Facebook cyber safety team discovered that hackers look to
have exploited sequences of bugs connected to a Facebook feature that contracts users realize
what their profile structures like to somebody else ("Facebook Security Breach Exposes
Accounts of 50 Million Users", 2020). According to the Facebook authority's statements, at least
45 to 55 million users' information was confirmed at danger after this cyber hackers exploited a
susceptibility that permitted them access to individual data. The Facebook authority also
defensively secure 35 million further accounts out of an abundance of attention.
In this scenario, the hackers have mainly targeted the Facebook database, where a vast
number of account information is stored securely ("Facebook Security Breach Exposes Accounts
of 50 Million Users", 2020). These hackers are using some vulnerable software that can be
collected this user data without any signal. That is the reason Facebook cyber engineers have not
assumed this kind of threat early. The Facebook officials do not know the origin of the hackers,
nor have they thoroughly assessed the possibility of the attack or if specific users were marked.
The inquiry is still in its beginning phases.
Proper action:-
Facebook authority is discovering this incident on 25th September 2019. After that, they
are immediately blocking all possible affected accounts very rapidly. At this time, they tried to

discover these vulnerable issues and fixed them properly (Venturini & Rogers, 2019). Cyber
analysts believe that the Facebook database is not upgraded very correctly. The Facebook
authority sends the request message to change the user password. One who does not concentrate
on this they are very much suffering from this cyber-security concern. If the databases are
upgraded on a day to day basis, then they easily navigate all vulnerabilities at a time. Not only
that, but the authority also changes its server configuration to mitigate these threats.
Impact:-
These incidents are creating the most significant impact on the world. Most of the person
who lives in San Francisco and the United States are suffering from this concern. When the
Facebook authority has revealed this incident, then most of the user is very much tensed and
uninstall this application. It creates an adverse impact on its global business (Smith, Mendez &
White, 2019). When they are changing their server configuration, then not affected accounts are
also suffering from updating issues, network error, and internal technical difficulties. All this
scenario makes the biggest obstacle for these organization's profit.
