Introduction
Cyber bullying is one of the biggest problems that are being faced by the teenagers of UK in
recent times. This study intends to discuss the impacts of cyber bullying. The thesis statement
of this study will be regarding whether the cyber bullying can be considered as a criminal
offence.

Assessment Part B
The growth of technology has directed the teenagers to online bullying. Cyber bullying is the
most common form of harassment over social platform. Nowadays it has become common
among the teenagers. Typically, teens harass other people on various social media sites.
Repetitive harassment or bullying leaves a negative impact on the teenagers. Cyber bullying
has become a consistent source of worry and distress. According to a recent survey, half of
the teenager girls of UK are being bullied everyday over social media sites (telegraph.co.uk.
2018). It is stated that 40% of teenage boys are facing such situation. According to the plan
International UK, the cyber bullying is increasing the pressure on teenagers (Long et al.,
2018), which is resisting their development and growth. Young people are also harming
themselves, as the cyber bullying is affecting their lifestyle. The risk of self-harm has been
raised by 2.3 times due to this condition (Burns, 2017). There are no existing laws in UK that
can be used for preventing cyber bullying. However, cyber bullying can be considered as a
criminal offence as it is risking the lives of teenagers of UK Under the protection form
harassment act 1997, a victim can fight against online bullying (bullying.co.uk. 2019). This
shows that it can be considered as an offence.

Conclusion
This can be concluded that cyber bullying is leaving significant impact on the lives of
teenagers. Teenagers have role in developing the future of the country so that they should be
protected from such toxic social anxiety. Thus, the thesis statement has been achieved in this
study, as the cyber bullying has been considered as a criminal offence.
