RESEARCH PAPER 2
In the modern era, various technologies have been used in daily life. In the present time,
the internet is the very common to everyone. The Internet has everything for people. For that
reason, the people are using the internet to a greater extent. It makes the world smaller. Though,
these technologies have also brought a fear of cybercrime. The cybercrime is considered as the
crime where the computers are used for the crimes such as spamming, phishing as well as
hacking. In the following parts, the growing problem of hacking, threat to economy, causes and
preventive measures of cybercrime is discussed and critically examined.
The cybercriminals use the technologies as well as internet to hack the personal computer
of users, data of smart phone, personal information from the social media, confidential data f
business, national secret. The criminal who performs the unlawful activities by the internet is
known as hacker (Yar & Steinmetz, 2019). Although the law enforcement agency is trying to
handle this issue, it is developing continuously. Various people have become victims of
malicious software and hacking. The best way to stop the cybercriminals is to make use of
inscrutable security, which utilizes the united system of hardware as well as software to validate
the data that is accessed over Internet (Holt, Bossler & Seigfried-Spellar, 2017).
Furthermore, the hacking is a biggest threat to global economy and national security. To
handle the hacking efficiently, it is essential to develop multidimensional private-public
collaborations between the law enforcement agency, IT sector, information security companies,
internet organizations as well as financial organizations. The cybercriminals do not struggle one
another for preeminence or the power. In its place, they work together for improving the skills as
well as even help the others with more chances. For this reason, the common methods of

combating crimes may not be used in against of the cybercriminal. To handle this problem, it is
required that the government should focus on cyber forensic training and establishment of
investigation labs. The government should conduct the programs time to time on cybercrime
investigation (Al-garadi, Varathan & Ravana, 2016). The government should make
cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin illegal to use as well as trade on stock exchange. There are
various countries which restrict the use of Bitcoin for cyber security. In addition of this, the
individuals and companies are also responsible to end the cybercrimes. They are required to
prevent being victims by installing anti-virus software. They should be careful for the passwords
and use of farewell. They should not share their personal information with everyone. When
internet affords some levels of anonymity, there are growing manners where the personal data
may be at a risk. In addition, they are required to take back up of files. They should scrutinize the
emails to ensure that the reliable sources are used (Gillespie, 2019).
As per the above discussion, it can be concluded that responding to the cybercrime is a
intimidating challenge, not only for a reason that there are various cyber criminals, however also
for the reason that they are strictly sophisticated. It has very negative impacts on the national
security and global economy. The government should take preventive measures to stop the
cybercrime.
