Cybersecurity attacks
Let’s face it, the cybersecurity attacks have become a scary issue for the data security for
companies, federal government and colleges and this has increased over the years. In most of
these attacks the hackers usually steal personal information (Singer & Friedman, 2014). on my
personal approach to the web practices such as e-commerce when I want to purchase a given
product I always make sure that my browser is secure so as to prevent the attackers from
utilizing on my personal data when I use my login credentials as well as credit card details. On
the aspect of the general web browsing i usually only access the websites which have verified
security certificate. Now days, there are many website which have been developed by the
hackers which looks similar as the common one we use on our daily basis such as the yahoo, and
e-commerce website, therefore when one access them using their details these are shared with
the hackers who in turn access personal information (Ten, Manimaran & Liu, 2010). The cyber-
attacks have made me to be more cautious to the way i use the internet and share my personal
data.
Preventive step to ensure safety of personal data.
One way which has made me secure my personal data has been the establishment of a strong
password when using site e-commerce site to make purchases or when carrying out online
banking. Implementation of a strong password is the easiest and simplest way one could
strengthen on their security (Singer & Friedman, 2014). Moreover, it is also important to use a
convenient password checker to see how strong the password is. Another way to keep my
personal data secure from the attackers is installation off the antivirus protection to the program I
use. Antivirus as well as the ant-malware are the most essential arsenal when it comes to the

online security. This is the last line of defense in case unwanted attacker was to access my
network.
