INTRODUCTION
The mental illness is health situation which is generally related with the change in
emotion, thinking or the behaviour which is showing the combination of such things. In
addition, mental illness is well associated with the distress and problem which is well
define the social, work or family activities which may cause the issue which is all about
nothing which is set as action that is ashamed. In this Blog, the major of discussion is
well follow the concept of danger on disability and mental health.
BLOG 1
There are many people around the globe who have danger disability with mental
health. Due to which they have to face many difficulties in society to live for like basic
things. Such as struggle in school, education of that child who have danger disability
with mental health problem got majorly affected, there are special schools for special
child's like for those who have danger disability but if they have mental health problem
also they have to face many problems in those schools also. Due to which they have to
leave the school in middle. The quality of life is also got disturbed. Apart from this I
would like to seek attention on the issue of social stigma or discrimination. I think
society does not normally welcome those people who have danger disability or mental
health problem. There are mainly two type of stigma, public stigma in which society
discriminate them or self-stigma in which they have negative attitude or behaviour
towards themselves (DeLuca, 2020). In society stigma, society does not treat them as
valuable or a contributing member of the society. They think or make them feel useless
in society. Which lower the confidence level of those people which create more barrier
to them, such as one day I saw a group of children playing in park and one disable child
just reach there and try to talk to them or play with them, but those children does not
show any interest in playing with her even their parents also not push them to go and
play with her even they took their child away from her. Which obviously sadden her but
this is the reality or behaviour of the society I saw towards any disable person (Hughes,
and et. al., 2020).
I would like to reflect that poverty or unemployment is also one of the main problem
for those people who have disability or having mental health problem. They are not able
to have full time job and have to face job discrimination. There are some government
Document Page
schemes also which are providing many benefits to them but not that enough to cover
there all expenses. Not everyone parents are capable to manage the all health
expenses and other expenses of their special child because of poor background. The
medical treatment is to much expensive in many countries that not everyone even can
think to afford them and the government schemes for disable people are also not good
enough everywhere. This create burden on the pocket of the family. To pay these bills
they have to do many sacrifices and also been able to live under bad conditions, this
also cause homelessness or can say housing insecurities to them. This also increase
the mental health issue of whole family (Kauffman, and Badar, 2018).
Taking care of these situation regarding disable or mentally ill people, government
of many countries made or making the strict laws to protect the right of these people. So
they were financially or mentally capable to live their life as others. Such as in United
Nations there are some laws for people with disabilities (Kudva, and et. al., 2020). One
of the law is Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities (CRPD). CRPD
commits to protect, promote and ensure that all the disable people fully and equally
enjoy every human right and fundamental freedoms. Other than this International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) include right not to be tortured, freedom
of speech to everyone as well as the people with disabilities and mental health problem.
Just like this in U.S also there are some special laws for only the people with disabilities.
Such as Disabilities Act for England peoples, this law commit to protect people with
physical and mental disabilities from any kind of discrimination in public transport, in
employment, in government services. Another one was Civil Rights of Institutionalized
Persons Act in which the government of U.S. find out such institution for mental or
physical disable people so that they provide every possible care and safety to them. For
avoiding discrimination in housing for people with disability the Fair Housing
Amendment Act is there in U.S. Last but not the least Individuals with Disabilities
Education Act help to provide quality of education to disable children's also (Smith, and
Bundon, 2018).
CONCLUSION
As per the above discussion, it is well analysing that the concept of danger disability
and mental illness is broad and wide range of discussion where people living their life in

INTRODUCTION
In this blog, the topic which is elaborated with the reference to concept of disability and
mental disorder. In this, disability is well defined as state of any individual which is
related with physical, mental and cognitive are impaired due to change in physiological
function that provide risk which is well related with the reference of fraction which may
show the concept of disability. The blog interprets the knowledge and information which
is related with topic.
BLOG 2
Disability is referring to any physical, mental and impaired condition that creates an
obstacle or limits to ability of person to involve in certain actions or task in their daily life
activities. This disability definition also included in mental health illness or problem
because sometime it is also known as psychosocial disability.
Mental health refers to psychological, emotional or social wellbeing and physical
disorder that affect to individual’s life, physical health and relationships. It is about
behaviour, feeling and thinking. Person who are suffering with mental health problem
are at high risk to face chronic physical health problems. It is important to understand
that mental illness can be treated with therapy and combination of medication (Brown,
2021).
People with danger disability had to face several challenges that has little thing to
do while actual limitations. This stigma of society is frequently at the foundation of
mental illness among people with disabilities rather than disability itself due to this,
negative attitude of people also influences disable person. I am going to focus on
different aspects to promote people with danger disabilities and with good mental
health. In this blog, I would like to reflect that population are suffering from disability with
mental health and also going to take closer look on psychological effects of the disability
which create barrier and obstacles on mental healthcare. People with disabilities had to
face various social problem in Australia such as higher education, outside the
workforce, demotivated, etc., these inequalities of social also impact on mental health.
By understanding the surrounding environment of mental health and disabilities which
help to take care and navigate challenges (Johnson and et. al., 2018). The negative
impact of mental health is severe among individuals with disabilities. In fact, I would like

to share my experience when adolescent with disability are suffering often mental
illness which damaging result of daily basis activities and less access to communities
which leading to experience them neglected and abuse in general population. As this
blog is covering about the barriers to mental healthcare for the people who are suffer
from disabilities.
It became social stigma that individuals with disabilities are unable to care
themselves, mentally unfit, cannot take self-decisions, useless without any support of
others, unhealthy and they are helpless etc., due to stigma, individuals have to
experience depression, traumatic stress, anxiety and many other mental problems
(Mitchell and et. al., 2019). If I talk about education then it is a basic right of every
human, there are special schools for the people with disabilities instead of normal
school but there are no special classes and care or supervision for the disable people
who are also suffering with mental problems. As per my perception, to solve this
problem institution needs to have special focus on this types of people so that they learn
about adaptive technology and Braille System which help them to live better lifestyle.
Being ignored is another challenging task for them to interact and feeling of being
ignored is different things that one should understand. Lack of employment is the basic
problem faced by disabled person for this, government has also launched schemes for
disabled person about the guarantee employment or jobs. They also have fear of
prejudice by normal person as human being are so complicated who always judge on
set of parameters, this may also affect the relationship of disabled person with others
(Pinals and et. al., 2022). As we all known about COVID 19 had huge negative impact
on life of human being. However, disturbed daily routine, social isolation and less
healthcare services provided to mental health and this also affected many individuals
with disabilities and mental health which develop various serious problems and
challenge able to face them. The services that are provided for development of physical
limitation and mental health expenses are very high and sometimes this medical
expenses may become out of budget or pocket which may lead to suffer patient.
Physical health (disabilities) and mental health are fundamentally linked to each
other. To understand the connection between body and mind firstly develop different
strategies to decrease conditions and support those who are living with disabilities and

mental health. According to me, therapy and counselling are important for the people
with disabilities who are suffering with mental problems, consult to professionals or
medical practitioner, there are three types therapy include speech, physical and
occupational therapy has positive impact on individual’s health (Salle and et. al., 2018).
Making connection with other also help to enhance confidence, knowledge and build
support. Take out time for yourself, eat healthy, practice meditation, do exercise and do
adequate rest or sleep. There are several resources and programmes are available for
the disabled people also suffering with mental health problem such as centres for
disease control and prevention (CDC), National Centre on Health, Physical Activity and
Disability (NCHPAD), American Association for People with Disabilities, Special
Olympics and NCHPAD's M.E.N.T.O.R. This programmes focuses on treatment,
support, dignity, improving emotional, physical and social quality of life of some
individuals with disabilities. Funding are provided to these programmes and two
National Centre on Disability by the CDC.
There are some laws that used to protect these type of people in America. First law,
Americans with Disabilities Act according to this law protect people from discriminations
of public transportation, accommodation, government jobs and services. Second is
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act under this law ensure that free public
educations are provided to children with disabilities as per their needs. Third, Fair
Housing Amendments Act was passed in 1988 according to this, no discrimination with
these people when they are buying or renting any house and this also prohibits based
on colour, religion, national origin and sex. Forth, Civil Rights of Institutionalized
Persons Act under this law the government of United State examine that government
facilities are keeping safe and providing adequate supervision or care for the people
with disabilities and mental health (Solevåg, 2018).
CONCLUSION
As per the above discussion, it is also analysed that study is usually focus on the
context which is showing aspect which is concept of danger disability and mental
disorder which is all show the notion where people used to face the issue due to mental
disorder.

INTRODUCTION
The blog is well providing the information which is showing that living with mental illness
is not easy because the major drawback which is arise within the individual with
disability is that they are facing neglect an ignorance in wider way that affect
psychological health of individual. In addition, the Blog help to make information
interpretation regarding the neglect to mental health. Therefore, the chronic stress
which has been linked to the higher risk of strokes, heart and obesity and so on.
BLOG 3
Mental health defines as condition of a person which consider their emotional and
psychological wellbeing. Mental health is also known as absence of mind. It is condition
that affect behaviour, thinking and mood of a person or individual realizes their abilities
can cope with normal stresses of life, can work productively and able to contribute in
society. Due to this, risk is increased in physical health such as strokes, heart disease
and diabetes. However, to improve mental health problems one should met with various
obstacle or barriers. The common threat is lack of listening or understanding and stigma
of psychiatric diagnoses (Xenitidis and et.al., 2021). Mental health is basic human right.
It is sensitive component of well being and health that nurture an individual to build
relationships, make decision and critical for community, socio-economic development.
Danger disability is a permanent illness or injury due to which the disable person
is not able do some specific activities or things like other normal people. Providing equal
opportunity or making laws for them is always been a debating topic across the globe.
Because I think whatever the government do like making law doing campaign for them
but until the people around them will not change their perspective towards them or until
they make them feel normal or comfortable nothing of these government campaigns will
do. There are mainly two type of disability one is Physical disability and the other one is
Mental disability. Physical disability consist disorders, anatomical loss, physiological
disease and impairment. Apart from this mental disability consist any brain disorder or
syndrome, learning disabilities, emotional or mental dis-balance etc. Due to their
disability they have to face lot of discrimination, unemployment and other lot of issues.
In which if a women or a girl have any of these disability then they face double
discrimination of disability and sex both (Goodley, 2020).

Physical health and mental health are equally important for overall health, if one is
dis-balanced then it affect the whole life of a person. After reading several articles, I felt
that I should write a blog on person with disabilities and mental health because it is one
of the challenging problem for global health and major factor to all over the world.
Through this blog I would like to share my perception about concept on disabilities and
mental health that disabilities are leading in public health problem with mental issues
among the population. This has negative impact because it limits their functions or
impairment are disadvantage for participant opportunities in social life (Corrigan, and
Nieweglowski, 2018). These restrictions also affect the person wellbeing and health
because of this disable person increase mortality rate, became socially isolated, do not
involve in any activities which leading them to cause mental health problems such as
depression, anxiety, dementia, bipolar disorder, etc. According to World Health
Organization (WHO) states that 20% of population are suffering from disabilities and
mental health out of that only 10% of people are getting treatment and attention for their
problems. Despite all the challenges, life of mentally ill or disable person does not mean
loneliness or isolation, unhappiness, misery. According to my thought the best cure to
treat loneliness or unhappiness is simple move out from house and interacting with
people and animals are perfect way to distract your mind or rejoining to the world. For
this the governments, volunteers, country representatives, NGOs and other primary
healthcare organizations had also approach from the hospitals of disabilities and mental
health to the societies or communities out there for support, engage and help to those
people who are suffering from these (Young, and et. al.,2019). There are many
therapies that must be provided by medical practitioner, primary health care or doctor so
it helpful for those person such as source of encouragement (travel, study, motivational
speech), stay hopeful means never listen to other, enjoy your life and create happiness,
learn about advocacy, make connection and involvement with others, explore own
mental health and physical health and do not feel guilty of having them try to move on.
I think disable person face more discrimination and assault in job, school, even in
normal things also like going to park or shopping etc. To protect them from all this
discrimination and assault the government made different different law in their country.
Such as in Ontario there is a legislation called Accessibility for Ontarians with
2
Document Page
Disabilities Act 2005, in India there is Right of Person with Disabilities Act 2016, in
United Kingdom there is Disability Discrimination Act 1995, in United States there is
Architectural Barriers Act and Rehabilitation Act and Americans with Disabilities Act
(Kowalski, and Peipert, 2019). Having these law help them a lot but still they have to
face discrimination in many areas such as attitudinal barrier in this disable people
basically face stigma, prejudice and discrimination from their surroundings. If the disable
person with mental illness is women then with all these discriminations, they also face
sexual discrimination. Other than this disable people who have mental illness also have
to face transportation barrier, as not every country is that much developed in text of
transportation that they can provide all needed help to disable people. Except this
finance is also been the biggest barrier for them as well as for their family also because
medical services are very expensive in some country that not everyone can afford it.
Some families are not able to pay all the cost of the medical service due to which
disable person with mental illness doesn't get appropriate medical care (Mancini, 2019).
Last one is communication barrier, lack of communication is the main reason of having
mental illness in almost every person who is disable because they are unable to
express their feelings properly, there is a sign language to overcome this barrier but not
everyone is able to understand it because it is tough to learn it. These barriers can be
overcome by doing some change in the policies and doing some changes in our
behaviour towards them. Making them feel normal and avoiding discrimination of them
in workplace or in local area would help the most. By doing some changes such as
lowering the cost of medical service or by making new transportation policies for them
by their government would help and make them able to live the good quality of life.
CONCLUSION
As per the above discussion, it is well analysing that the concept of danger disability
and mental illness is broad topic which may require proper investigation in the term of
collection of data and information. Without treatment the consequence of mental illness
for the individual and society is also showing the staggering of untreated mental health
condition which can show the result related with unnecessary disability, unemployment
and substance abuse and so on.
