(a).Proper fraction:- It is a fraction which is less than one and numerator is less than
denominator.
For example:- ¼ ( 1 is smaller, 4 is larger).
(b). Improper fraction:- A fraction in which numerator is equal to or greater than denominator.
For example:- 7/5 ( 7 is greater, 5 is smaller).

Total tickets sold by sporting event:- 1,20,000
Tickets sold at premium price:- 24,000
Tickets sold at standard price:- 62,000
Remaining tickets sold at discounted price let us assume that is 'x'
1,20,000= 24,000+62,000+x
x= 34,000
% of x=(34,000/1,20,000)*100
% of x= 28.33%
Thus % of tickets sold at discounted price is 28.33%.
4. Given that Arianne paid two £50 notes for 2 jackets and got a change of
£12.50.
Total amount paid:- £100-£12.50
=£87.5
price of 1 jacket= £87.5/2

=£43.75
Hence price of each jacket is £43.75

(a) let us assume 'x' be the total amount without discount then
60= (£180/x)*100
x=(£180/60)*100
x=£300
so the total amount without discount is £300
total savings= £300-£180
=£120

= £120/3
=£40
Thus saving of each person is £40

Total people asked= 150
people said yes=( 2/5)*150
=60
women said yes=(7/10)*70

=49
men said yes= 60-49
=11
men said no= 80-11
= 69
% of men said no= (69/80)*100
= 86.25%
hence 86.25% men said no.

Patrick will take 1hr10mins from his home to get to St Pancras Station, from he will get a
train to Manchester.
Then train journey from St Pancras to Manchester is 2 and half hours.
After that meeting venue in Birmingham is a 10mins taxi ride from the station.
So Patrick will take a total time of 3hr50mins.
Meeting will start at 10:45AM
It is also given that Trains to Manchester run at the given times: on the hour, 20 minutes past the
hour and 40 minutes past the hour.
The latest time that Patrick can leave home, if he is to make it on time for the marking exercise
in Manchester is 6:50AM
as he will take 1hr10min to reach station so he will be at station at 8 AM then he will catch train
at 8AM then he will reach Manchester at 10:30AM then in 10 min he will reach at the
destination at 10:40AM.

Weight of iPhone model= 0.18kg
weight of Samsung model=4/25kg
i.e.= 0.16kg
Hence 0.18 is larger value than 0.16 so iPhone model is heavier than Samsung model.

value.
