AI Summary
This report presents a data analysis of a study conducted on 40 college students, focusing on their age, height, gender, and year in college. The analysis reveals that the majority of students are between 22 and 26 years old, with an average age of 24. The average height is 6.98 inches. The study identifies height as the dependent variable and age, sex, and year of study as independent variables. The report concludes that a student's height is influenced by their age and gender, emphasizing the importance of height as an indicator of health status, such as body mass index (BMI). The data was collected to determine the age and height of the students. The report also includes references to support the findings.

Data Analysis and Reporting
This study was aimed at finding out the age and height of college students. A sample of
40 students was involved in the study. Details of age, height (in inches) and year in college were
capture to properly describe the data. The data analysed revealed that majority of the students
(25%) were 25 years old followed by 26 years of age (15%). The greater proportion of students
were found to be between 22 to 26 year of age (75%). The average age of students was found to
be 24 years. The average height of student is 6.98 inches with a standard deviation of 2.24 inches
and ranges between 63 to 71 inches (Gupta & Kapoor,2019). The majority of the students were
68 inches with the least being 63 inches. Equal numbers of males and female student were
involved in the survey. This consisted of 20 males (50%) and 20 females (50%). Similarly, the
proportion of students in year 1 to year 4 was found to be equal. A dependent variable is a
variable whose outcome is influenced by the other variable. An independent variable, on the
other hand, influences the outcome of the next variable (Dependent variable). From this data,
height can be considered as the dependent variable while age, sex and year of study are the
independent variables. It can, therefore, be concluded that the height of a student depends on
their age and gender. Human height can be termed as the measure of vertical distance from the
head to the bottom when measured while standing upright. The height is measured by an
instrument known as stadiometer and can be expressed in metres, inches, feet and centimetres.
This is an important measure of the health status of an individual since it is used in finding out
the body mass index, which shows if one is healthy, obese or underweight (Nuttall, F. Q. (2015).
This, therefore, helps the administration to input the necessary interventions to ensure students
are physically and mentally fit to be able to study well.
