1.0 Business Case Analysis and Proposal:
Data Communication Challenges: First challenge is implementing the huge network that
can sync all the data simultaneously. From the cameras to the online broadcast everything will be
shared with the Head office. Another challenge is implementing security measures in the center
so that data communication between center and head office can be done safely.
Communication Technologies: The first need is a LAN infrastructure within the center.
The LAN will have a router connected to the ISP. WAN will be implemented for connecting the
head office with the center. In order to implement LAN efficiently, the network designers will
use the idea of VLAN and subnet. Another technical requirement is a CDN which will host the
entire Website of Lean Into It.
Opportunity from New Services: The web services proposed for the new center of Lean
Into It will allow the organization to provide better quality service to the customers. The
customer satisfaction level will enhance rapidly because of the 24*7 service. Human intervention
in business operations and use of spreadsheet for maintaining data are very error prone. The
organization has experienced very bad service records due to inaccurate data storage and
decisions made on wring data. Management of data in spreadsheet is also a big issue for big
organizations. The spreadsheet data cannot hold large data files and proper connection between
data cannot be established.
The web service will include a database management system. This DBMS will record all
the data collected by the website. The website will have details of the customer, payment and
invoice. The website will be implemented on-premises of Lean Into It so that proper security can
be implemented for the website. A secure website will make the customers more confident about

payment. These will be done through PayPal payment gateway. In order to make the on-premises
system to be accessed from remote locations using internet, Lean Into It can use the MS Azure
VPN service. The server in which the website will be deployed and monitored can be connected
to a VPN Firewall router which will be connected to the VPN gateway of AZURE. A site-to-site
gateway connection will allow the customers to experience faster and secure website experience.
This way Lean Into It can easily monitor all the network traffics of the website and detect any
cyber-attack before it can harm the system.
Another service is Wireless access to the internet. The LAN infrastructure of Lean Into It
will have Wireless Access Points in various rooms available for parents and other people. They
can connect to the internet using their mobile devices. These access points are implemented
using Wi-Fi router. Each user needs to enter the password to connect to the network.

4.0 Project Notebook and Lessons Learned:
The first task was understanding the scenario and requirements of Lean Into It. This is
done through understanding the communication challenges and how the proposed services will
assist Lean Into It to achieve business profit. The overview of network is presented along with
those findings. After that the specification of WAN is described in detail in the assignment.
WAN specification included point of presence, internet exchange point and level of internet
service providers. A logical backbone network for WAN is designed to represent the networking.
At last the LAN infrastructure of new center has been presented through logical network
diagram. The IP subnet has been used for dividing a network into four segments as per the
requirement of Lean Into It.

I have met Gray to collect the basic requirements of the system and agree upon few things.
This helped me clarify the project scope and deliverables. Among all the network topologies,
the Star topology can be the best solution for Lean Into It’s new center.
