Literature
As said by Arnott, , Lizama, and Song, 2107, the advancement in technology has
enabled in giving high tech tools for business to grow and expand. With this they are able to
transform its operations. In recent times, it is necessary for every business to store and maintain
data and info. this is because data provide useful insight and info to business. Big data is
emerging as new tool. It is highly useful in taking effective decisions. Alongside it, business
intelligence has also important concept. It contain integrated information system by which data is
analysed and useful info is obtained from it. According to Larson, and Chang, 2016, there are
certain dimensions of BI such as data integration, decision making, etc. However, BI is highly
used in large companies where there is need to analyse large data set and on basis of that
decision is to be taken. There has been a great positive impact of BI on organisation efficiency
and strategic management. Now, effective strategies are developed and it has resulted in
improving financial performance of public companies. Besides that, there are other positive
impact as well as BI has reinforced in enhancing business sustainability. The insight obtained
from it is used in developing strategies and setting of long term goals. In the view of Popovič,
Puklavec and Oliveira, 2019, BI also helps finding out uncover areas through which companies
can contribute towards society. Hence, through this way it can built positive image within
society by improving its performance.
Knowledge of subject
In my view BI is wide area in which there are many techniques that is available. So, it is
essential to get in depth knowledge about those technique in it. The techniques in it are big data,
forecasting, data analytics, etc. thus, i also gained knowledge about it. I got to know that how
these all BI techniques are used in it and its features and functions. Moreover, i learned about
what impact does each technique have on various business areas. Besides that, i gained several
skills as well from this. I learned data analysis skills that how data is analysed from article,
what info is written and how it is evaluated. Along with that, i learned writing skills as well
that how report is written and what content is included in it. in that i learned how sentences
are made, use of terms, citation, etc. in report. This helped in improving my report writing skills
and critiquing in it.
Here, there is a BI models as well. they consists of some tools and applications that are
based on DSS, OLAP, data warehouse, etc. the DSS is used by managers to make decisions.

Whereas OLAP is used to process and analyse data and info. it both helps in decision making
process. The data warehouse is that where large data is stored. There is also a process of BI
through which it works. There are certain stages in it that includes building, predicting, etc. of
data and info. it is important to utilise it in effective way otherwise it is waste of time and
resource. BI also helps finding out uncover areas through which companies can contribute
towards society. Hence, through this way it can built positive image within society by improving
its performance (Puklavec, Oliveira, and Popovič, 2018).
Analysis
It can be analysed from article that in such a competitive business environment, it has
become necessary for organisation to improve decision making. This is because it will help in
developing effective strategies and sustaining in market for long term. BI is emerging as useful
tool for public organisations. It is stated that use of business utilisation is to help in decision
making. In this Big data is used to make daily work decisions. As argued by ( he said that
installing of BI without analysing its proper use will not lead to enhance value of business. This
means that strategic impact is evaluated when BI is properly installed in business functions.
So, in Malaysia in many public companies effectively contribute in its GDP. But there is
intense pressure from stakeholder regarding its sustainability. This is because of change in
social, political, etc. the sustainability is analysed with triple bottom line, people. The pillars of
BI are analysis, reporting and performance (Sun, Sun, and Strang, 2018).
Furthermore, it is analysed that there are several strategic impact that has occurred on
companies by using BI. The first is that it has enhanced economic performance of firms.
They are able to generate more revenue through cutting of cost. Another is that BI offers data
integration, decision making, etc by which stakeholder are able to make strategic decisions at
different levels. Thus, companies can strengthen its environment performance. They can reduce
impact on climate, global change, etc by effectively responding to it. At last it is analysed that
BI can help in determining employee morale, and other issues. There can be positive impact on
sharing of knowledge and innovation. BI also helps finding out uncover areas through which
companies can contribute towards society. Hence, through this way it can built positive image
within society by improving its performance.

In large companies BI is used in different areas. It has resulted in gaining efficiency in
business performance. In real world it is difficult to implement BI as employee require high
skills and capabilities to understand it. Besides that, with change in stakeholder needs decisions
taken has to be modified. Big data is a technique in BI used to store and manage large data set
and info in segregated way. By using big data it becomes easy for business to manage its info.

Here, data is analysed to obtain useful info. so, this helps in giving insight about trends, needs,
and many other things. Through data analytics it becomes easy to get useful and precise

emerge in the market. This is done by analysing past data and predicting what changes will
occur in it. It highly benefit them in developing new products and improving efficiency of firm.
the limitation of using data analytics is results obtained from it are not always accurate. Thus, it
may lead to failure in certain areas (Trieu, 2017).
Skills for professional practice
This report will be highly effective for me in my profession. I learned many things from
it. The report was completed by me individually. Hence, i learned about analysis skills that
how article is reviewed and analysed. Besides that, what points are to be stated in it and how to
relate it with one another. In addition, i am having relevant time management skills by which i
was able to finish report in deadline. Thus,, i can do tasks on time by preparing a schedule and
working on it in properly.
But i do not possess team working skills. I am not able to work in team due to which my
professional career is affected. Thus, i need to learn and get training to work in team. It will
help me in attaining my goals. There is also decision making skills which is required to be
sharpen. This will be useful for me to take effective decisions easily. With that article can be
easily selected as well. Thus, these all attributes are effectively required in professional
