contractor for various sector organizations such as restaurants, corporate offices, educational
buildings, medical office buildings, retail shopping centers and hospitality. This company is
having its own Global information system (referred as GIS), which is an asset in providing high
quality services and data to its clients. This data is helpful in providing construction management
services, design building as well as pre-construction services of the above organizations.
Following kind of data, our company collects:
Customer, enterprise and supply chain data through Soft wares like CRM, ERP and SCM.
Surveys data for supplementing operational data of the firm
Firm’s Operational data through Data acquired from External sources which can be used
for providing the firm competitive edge.
After above data collection, data will be converted into information and knowledge
subsequently to use for the organization functions (University of Lousiana, 2018).
The organization uses this data to approach the big customers for improved commitments in
global purchasing through negotiating lesser prices in exchange. This will further improve
manufacturing capacity, labor conditions (Harvard Business Review, 2018).
Solution 2:
If our company could implement new technology to collect data then it could have machine
learning data through high sample rate sensors which will further help in following areas:
To overcome variation of data due to collection equipment errors.
To collect real-time data efficiently (Youtube, Machine Learning, 2018).
To give accurate predictions in the real market.

data analytics will leverage the firm in competitive advantage, by providing real strategic
tool for boosting performance and surging sales through tracked transactions as well as
increased insights within an organization.

After collecting data, utilizing it for specific purpose is also a challenge so Data mining is
used to explore data in order to find hidden patterns to build large data models.
There are different ways to collect data for data ware houses are:
Flat files
Documents and previous work files
Databases of different local and government organization (University of Lousiana, 2018)
