Part A: Database research
The word data has been defined from the datum word that means giving. Actually data is
a fact, information or it may even be an event. The set of the facts or information making sense
to the reader is known as data. The storage concept for the data in a system is known as the
database management system. The history of the databases had started with the concept of the
development of libraries and with the recent developments in technology the concept of data
being stored in the systems.
In the year of 2003 the concept of data was first ideated. In addition to this, the concept of
record was developed way before the computers were invented. In addition to this, the recent
developments have also data storing and management for the manipulation of the data for the
benefits of the users.
Additionally, the concept of data and relationship in between data have been developed in
and around the year 2007. The following further concepts were developed for the users. The
investing was further continued in the following year. The main concept is that the user would
not be made aware of the internal structures of the database and that they would only be able to
view the logical existence of the database.
Lately there has been further development of the database options and there has been
development like NoSQL that would be helpful in mitigating the challenges such as
unavailability of ACID properties in the relational databases.
