Ideally, for a person to understand this course, it will be advisable for one to take enough
time by committing to the unit so that one can understand all the concepts as it will ensure that
all the areas of focus are well understood. In this course I learnt that data mining is one of the
major technologies used today by many firms strongly attached to customers. The attached
customers are those who focuses much on retails, financial institution and communication
sectors among others. In my understanding, I was able to understand that, there exist several
areas of application of data mining such as the education, the manufacturing engineering, the
customer relationship management system, financial banking among others. It has been, my
desire to indulge in this course as I was able to understand clearly on some of the best techniques
that are used in making this area of application a reality. Notably, according to my previous
understanding on data mining and how it is applied, I saw information to be very much different
and much unrealistic but after some few lessons and detailed data, I was able to understand the
different perspectives and how they pertain to integrated and big data.
According to the study, there existed several variables which helped one to understand if
one is dealing with the quantitative and qualitative. In qualitative is all about the quality of the
variables given while the quantitative is all about the quantity in all aspects. Ideally, for the case
of the Quantitative variable they are categorized which usually results in values which are
descriptive on the other hand then the qualitative variable is simply numerical and can be
measured. I understood that the qualitative variable is much of inductive while the quantitative
variable is all about deduction. I understood that induction simply works from the idea which is
general. This means that the deductive will start with the theory, which will indeed help in the
formation of a hypothesis that gathering observations which will help one to confirm or even
disapprove the original idea or thought.

Ideally, according to my understanding, it is clear that the information learned in the class
will need someone to take some time off and then back and reflect what was learnt so that it can
be applied in real life through converting it into knowledge. As a continuing student, it was
advisable for me to first of all finish this class so that I get a clear understanding of what is SAS
and how such is applied in the descriptive data and analysis. Ideally, being introduced to the
SAS, it helped me in understanding the concept of the data program. In this case, to get a deep
understanding of the descriptive data and analysis there was a need to use the Excel and the
Tableau which helped me in understanding both platforms. In understanding the SAS technique,
I feel an urge to further my studies and put more concentration on programming which will help
me much in understanding and extending my knowledge. It will be my joy if I will be able to
develop a program that will give immediate feedback loop which can be easily applied in any
business without much tension. This course really helped me in making the next step of life and
much more on my career.
