1DASHBOARD IN TABLEAU & DATA MINING IN KNIME
Introduction
The following assignment has been made on understanding the process of developing the
dashboards in tableau and data mining in KNIME. The data mining plays a significant role in
improving the activity development with the inclusion of the aspects of the development model
(Federer and Joubert 2018). The development of dashboards is very helpful for forming the
implication and management of information regarding the processes and activities.
Dashboards in Tableau
The process of creating attractive dashboards in tableau is eased with the help of free
online tableau software (Fezarudin, Tan and Saeed 2017). The following steps are required for
creating the dashboards in tableau,
Step 1: Open a dashboard sheet- Click New Dashboard icon from the bottom of the
workbook for creating the dashboard by opening a new dashboard sheet
Step 2: Add Views- Views can be inserted to dashboard by selecting them from the
Sheets Menu and dragging them to the dashboard sheet.
Step 3: Add Objects- Addition of objects would help in adding views to the dashboard
including blank spaces, web pages, and many layout containers. One of the items must be
selected and dragged to the dashboards sheet for adding the object in the dashboard.
Step 4: Add Interactivity- It is possible to set up interactivity and filters to the dashboards
for making the dashboard more attractive. The option of Use as filter can be used for making
one view as a filter for rest of the views.

Step 5: Edit a web dashboard- It is also possible for editing an existing dashboard and
modifying its contents for creating a new dashboard. In the list view, the check box for
dashboard is selected and opting for edit sheet function under the action sheet. After that the edit
option must be selected for editing the dashboard.
Data Mining in KNIME
KNIME is software used for developing the analytic platform and proceed with the
process of data mining process (Alcala-Fdez et al. 2016). The software can be downloaded from
the online platforms and installed on Windows platform.
Step 1: Start the KNIME application
Step 2: Development of workspace (folder for storing all the work on KNIME)
Step 3: Identification of supporting extensions (text mining modules, JavaScript
visualization nodes, R and Python integrations, and image mining)
Step 4: KNIME Workbench (workflow editor view, Explorer view (top left), and Node
Repository (bottom left)
Conclusion
It can be concluded from the assignment that the use of the dashboards and data mining
jointly had eased the business organizations with improved processes and management. The
tableau had varied options for creating the website and implication for the integration and
management of the dashboards in a more attractive and detailed method.
