Abstract
Data modeling is an important concept and an essential part for the organization process day to
day work in this age including human resource management, sales and marketing and also a
financial management system. This paper is contributed to enhance the skills of data modeling
and business analysis by the help of design thinking critical process and work centered analysis
framework by preparation of a system to effectively assist the chosen organization. The paper is
mainly focused on data modeling concept to analyze and design a database system and core
business functions by using design and analysis viewpoint.

Introduction
Data modeling and design approach is an important concept to make important in any existing
organization work structure. To design a data model for an organization depends on important
information and workflow. To prepare an effective data model it is required to first analyze the
requirement of the client by performing a different type of session including meeting and
questionnaire. Implementing a design thinking approach to understand the requirement for the
information management system for the Choice Appointment can help to effectively collect
missing information and allow designing a set of interview question. An entity relationship
diagram is an important term where one entity connected with others to formalize the
relationship between data or information. Preparation of entity relationship diagram can also
help to structure all information in systematic order which can help to design a data model
easily. So in the paper, we are going to perform data model design and analysis to effectively
help the organization Choice Appointment.

TASK 1: Design Thinking
Design thinking approach is a set of well-defined steps that allow categorizing all work in a
different section. Implementing a design thinking approach to perform an interview has been
conducted with Choice appointment client to understand the requirement to develop a system.
The question for an interview is as follows:
Ques-1: What is the actual timing of the opening of Choice Appointment organization?
Ans- The organization open on all weekdays except Saturday and Sunday and the time may vary
as per availability of work and holidays.
Ques-2: How applicants apply for an interview?
Ans- An applicant has to apply through email including resume to a specific consultant of the
organization.
Ques: 3- What if an applicant sends the resume on the organization email?
Ans: - It is complicated because no consultant authorizes to access organization email.
Ques4:- What is the basic qualification to apply with Choice Appointment?
Ans: - There are no criteria defined
Ques5:- Is it an assessment test to select an application of Applicant?
Ans:- Yes, the applicant has to go through a common word test.
Ques6:- How many questions are there in a question paper?
Ans: - It is 15.
Ques7: When and How an applicant charge for providing an assessment test and job
opportunity?
Ans: - It is not confirmed.
Ques8:- Is there any computer-based assessment?

Ans: - Yes but not strictly. An applicant has to go through each particular task.
Ques: - 9 How would you select a company for an applicant?
Ans- There are no specific criteria?
Ques: - Are you providing a permanent Job?
Ans- No. There is two types of job one is a permanent and temporary job.
There are several different methods available in the design thinking approach available but the
most important is What?| How?|Why?. To articulate deep information of working approach of
organization this method helps effectively. This is the most powerful technique that helps to
analyze the process of work and the information which is missing.

TASK 2: Work-Centered Analysis Framework
Six system element of Work-Centered Analysis Framework for choice Appointment consultancy
are as follows:

TASK 3: Performance Analysis - Business Value and Customer Value
Analysis of business process to conceptualize the business gain and client gain that can be
obtained from the design and deployment of the system as a subsystem of the work system
allow developing a strategy to effectively measure business goals. The business can be an
improvement by identification of an area that provides maximum gain so that we can apply the
same technique to the non-profit area to get success. The system also provides a detailed
overview of the work process to design an effective data model for the organization Choice
Appointment.
Performance analysis of Business Process and product component that is done in the previous
task allows considering all the factor of a business process within the Choice Appointment
Organization. After analysis, it is clear that Choice Appointment organization is a consultancy
that has several different types of a client who hires for a different position on a permanent and
contract basis. They have a systematic approach to receiving an email to hire an applicant.
To perform the whole hiring process organization hire a group of few people who screening
resume, feed test record in the system, create slips and etc. The organization has numerous
type of work which has been done manually. All the process takes place separately and each
individual prepare a separate record and feed into the system. Now as after design and
deployment of a data modeling system it can possible to structure all missing information and
make improvement where the organization fails. It could also minimize the hiring process steps
and reduce effort so that customer can perform well and easily maintain information of
applicant and as well as of hiring activities.

TASK 4: Architecture of the Information Component
Entity Relationship Diagram
An entity relationship diagram can also be called an entity-relationship model is a set of
graphical structure of a system which consists relationship among different other entities, work
process, events and etc. it is a special type of data modeling technique which helps to explain
the process or activities of business that is used to perform a specific task. It is quite important
to design a data model because it provides a visual structure of a database system to store
information. It is also useful in the categorization of data and establishment of the relationship
among them. Entity relationship diagram has several models like:
 A conceptual data model that failed to map important detail but offer a broad range of
overview about project scope and envision power to set data to each other.

 A logical data model that provides more information than structured conceptual
modeling of data. It specifies all specific attributes and the relationship in between
them.
 The physical data model provides a blueprint of structured information such as a
relational database system.
It has three basic components that are mainly used in data modeling. The first one is an entity,
the second one attributes and the third one is the relationship between the entities.
An entity-relationship data model design for the Choice Appointment Organization on the basis
of gathered information represents all entities, events, and process in a well-organized manner
in the below-given diagram.

Mapping of entity relationship diagram to normalize the main data model to effectively
increase the efficiency of the system is a technique to reduce redundancy from the system.
Normalization technique can divide the complex database into smaller and easier form. Data

normalization is an approach to minimize the possible redundancy and avoid the issue of data
duplicate in a system. The most favorable type of data normalization is 1NF, 2NF, and 3NF.
1NF
This type of normalization form didn’t consist of any duplicate entries of data. The first normal
