Practical Assignment
AI Summary
This assignment focuses on data modeling using Excel to create and manipulate databases for a university setting. The student created four versions of Excel sheets, each with specific tasks. Version 1 involved creating tables for students, courses, enrollment, and staff allocation, and populating them with 30 rows of data. Version 2 required updating the last two records and adding five new records to all tables. Version 3 involved adding new attributes like 'country of birth' to the student table and 'start date' to the course table. Version 4 required removing existing attributes and adding five rows to the tables, with specific removals and additions in each table. Critique
The excel sheets those are done by you are appropriate and all the versions of excel are done
properly. The database that you have created consists of various fields, entities, attributes and
records. In the version 1 of the excel sheets, you have created the tables properly like the
students table, course table, enrolment table and the staff allocation table. The task was to add
the 30 rows of data to all these tables. You have successfully added the 30 rows of data to all
the tables that you have created. You have also added various attributes to the tables
successfully and are properly done (Bobbie & Attrams, 2016). You have also filled all the
tables properly with proper data.
The second version of the excel sheet is appropriate. The task of this excel sheet is to update
the last 2 records and add 5 records to all the table. The update of the records has been done
properly and all the tables have been updated with proper data (Ghomeed & Abdallah, 2019).
The addition of the records to the table has been done appropriately and there are no mistakes
in the addition and the updating the records in the table. The updating and the addition of the
records that is done by you is done according to the requirements.
The next task is to do the version 3 excel sheet. The task includes addition of new attributes
to the student and the course table (El-Seoud, Gamie & Salama, 2017). The addition of the
attributes are done successfully and in the student table the attribute that is added by you is
the country of birth and the course table, the attribute that is added to the course table is start
date.
The next task is to perform operations on the version 4 excel sheet. The task is to remove the
5 existing attribute and add 5 rows to the tables. You have added the attributes successfully
and all the rows are added properly to the report (Singh, Leavline & Vijayan, 2017). In the
student table, you have removed email and address successfully; in the course table, you have

successfully added 5 rows of data. In the enrolment table, you have not removed any
component and you have added 5 rows successfully. In the staff table, you have removed the
address, email and date of birth and in the staff allocation table you have not removed any
data but you have successfully added 5 rows of data.
The data that you have provided in the database are correct and proper and the tables are
created according to the requirements. The table that have been created by you has been
properly created. The entities are created according to the requirements of the University. The
four databases represents the name of the students, name of the courses, enrolment number of
the students, name of the staffs and the allocation of the staff to the course. These are created
properly and all the things are done properly.
