INTRODUCTION
Database can be defined as collection of data or information which is generally stored
and accessed electronically from a computer system (Epstein and Dexter, 2018). These databases
are mostly developed using modern design and techniques. Databases today have made it much
easier for the organizations store, manage and extract data without any issues. However, due to
advancement in technology there are various kinds of database issues that are being faced by the
organizations today. This report will lay emphasis upon a case study of PEAR shop whose owner
wants to create database in order to run her own business. This report will majorly focus upon
database issues related to proposed case study, proposed solution in order to overcome those
issues in a proper manner.

Database issues
There are various kinds of database issues that can arise within a database or within
database systems. Here are some of the major database issues that can be faced by PEAR shop as
well. These database issues can impact overall data storage, extraction and management for
PEAR shop if current database solution is being used. Some of the most common and priority
database issues that can be faced by the Professional Electronic and Repair shop are as follows:
ï‚· One of the most important and major issue which is required to be focused upon is data
security issues. Database security has also been one of the major security concerned issue
which is being faced by the organizations. as advancement is technology is increasing
vulnerabilities associated with database is also increasing (Politis and et. al., 2016). It is
extremely important to focus upon because ignorance of database security can increase
chances of losing access to database, losing data within database, hacking and many more.
There are various kinds of databases that do not provide appropriate security of the system.
ï‚· Another database issue faced is slow performance. It is one of the most common problems
which is faced by most of the organization. There are various kinds of database tools and
systems whose overall performance reduces by time because of increasing size of the
database. As size of the database increases it starts taking more time than required. As a
result, it continuously gets slower. Not only this, as the size of database increases and speed
reduces, it starts becoming difficult to manage.

ï‚· Correct data availability is another database issue associated with most of the databases. It is
one of the most common issues associated with Microsoft Access (Gulzar and et. al., 2017).
In large databases there is no or least surety that the record extracted or shown by the
database is correct. In large databases it is one of the most common database issues that
many times as many times in larger databases queries or sub-forms are processed correctly as
a result, they show incorrect data.
ï‚· For management of large datasets, it is important for organizations to adopt a proper and
appropriate database system or tool otherwise they might face compilation issues or errors
even if the query or code is correct. This is majorly because of high and excess storage of the
data then the system is designed for.
ï‚· Another one of the highest priority database issue that can be faced by the organizations is
that it can get corrupted more easily. There is no particular reason because of which database
corruption issue can occur within the databases. Corruption of the database is one of the most
common issue which is faced by organizations. It is difficult to understand ways to reduce
chances of corruption and credibility of the database. But most often there is one common
reason because of corruption of database occurs i.e. increasing excess size of the database.

There are various kinds of ways with the help of which above specified database issues
can be resolved and reduced many different ways. Due to advancement in technology, various
kinds of database technologies are emerging in which such database issues have already been
identified. New advance database technologies are already focusing upon these issues (Lee and
et. al., 2018). Using these emerging technologies, here are some proposed solutions that can help
in reducing chances of occurrence of these database issues in a proper and appropriate manner.
It of the most common and effective solution is using cloud storage database system. it is
one of the most commonly used solution that can be used by organizations. using cloud- based
database system can help organizations to overcome various kinds of database issues such as:
cloud storage database system does not have any kind of data storage limit. Not only this,
security of these database systems is quite high. Organization can chance security setting of these
database storage systems as well. There are various kinds of databases that are based upon cloud-
storage. Security of these systems are extremely high. These databases can help in resolving

storage of large data issue faced by the organization. It can also help organizations in
overcoming security database issues faced by them (Lakshmi, Abillasha and Kangueane, 2019).
No only this, usage and implementation of cloud storage database system can also help in
overcoming database issues like corruption. Such kind of database system have high end security
because of which chances of corruption decreases, large data can be stored and managed
successfully. Another reason because of which cloud storage database system are effective i.e.
these types of system can help increasing different users of same database within varied database
access permission. It is one of the security functionalities of these system. cloud database system
also helps in increasing overall speed of the system and helps in overcoming slow performance
issue faced by most of the system
Another solution to overcome above identified database issues is usage and
implementation of multimedia information system. such kind of system can be used for securely
storing data with the system. this is majorly because today usage and implementation of these
system can be used for storing, accessing and utilizing data or information in many different
ways. these systems can also be used for storing multimedia data (Arora, 2019). As such kind of
database system store all kinds of data so its security is also high. Such kind of system are
desired in such a manner that any amount of data can be stored within them in many forms
because of which data corruption chances also reduces. Not only this, these systems can also be
used to overcome issues like slow performance of the system.
If advance technologies cannot be used by the system then in such case some of the
advance security settings in the existing databases should be done. Almost all kinds of database
system provide an option to lock the database within a high- end password and create users with
different kinds of permissions. In order to increase overall performance of the system with high
security, different users should be created with separate permission. And each of the users should
be provided with different password so that security of the system can be enhanced in a proper
and effective manner.

From the above report it has been summarized that there are various kinds of database
issues that can be faced by PEAR while using the current database solution. Some of these
database issues are of main priority to be focused upon as it can impact their data storage,
management, extraction, access to the data sets and many more. This report has helped in

analysing that out of all the identified database issues data security and availability of correct
data are one of the major and priority issues that are required to be focused upon and threat of
these issues is required to be reduced or eliminated. It has also been analysed that there are many
solutions that can help organizations to overcome most common and priority database issues
faced by them. One of the most effective solutions to secure the database with some security
settings. There are many other effective solutions that can be used for overcoming these issues in
a proper and expected manner.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Here are few recommendations that can be implemented to the current solution in order
to reduce issues associated with the database. Some of the most effective recommendation that
can help in reducing database issues are as follows: By doing security setting, security issues
associated with the database can be reduced. First of all, database should be protected with a high
ended password. This password should be known by limited number of people. Other then this in
order to access the database first of different categories of users should be created and as per the
needs and requirement of the users to access data permission should be granted to them. But
editing permission should be provided to only one user who will be responsible for management
of the data stored with the database. This will help in reducing hacking chances, increase secured
accessibility to the database, increasing security of the database. Other than this organization can
also focus upon using database system based upon cloud- storage.
