Relational Database Design and Development Project: VET SOLUTION

This project outlines the design and development of a relational database management system for VET SOLUTION, a veterinary company aiming to automate its operations and reduce paperwork. The project begins with an entity-relationship diagram (ERD) illustrating the database structure, including tables for animals, customers, appointments, drugs, vet branches, staff, treatments, and prescriptions. User and system requirements are identified, emphasizing the need for an automated, secure, and communicative system. Data validation and normalization, adhering to the third normal form (3NF), are implemented to ensure data integrity. The database is developed using MS SQL Server 2014, incorporating system security measures and database maintenance procedures. The project includes query language examples using Data Manipulation Language (DML) and Data Definition Language (DDL) to extract and manipulate data. A test plan is created to validate the system against user and system requirements, and comprehensive technical and user documentation is provided to guide system usage and maintenance.
