1DATABASE SECURITY
The developed version of Oracle Database 12c has implemented two new roles for the
purpose of supporting the Unified Auditing. AUDIT_ADMIN role has the ability to offer with
the privileges of creating, altering, and dropping the audit policies. Apart from this it also tends
to hold the ability that will ensure that the user is able to enable or disable the audit policies for
the mentioned business requirement [1]. This will ensure that they are able to view the audit
records, and are allowed to clean up the audit trail.
On the other hand AUDIT_VIEWER is used by the users for the purpose of viewing the
audit-trail contents. The Unified Auditing mainly owned by the AUDSYS user, and not by the
SYS user. Database auditing is referred to the process of monitoring and recording of selected
users that are performing the database action at the moment. This ensures that suspicious
activities can be investigated without facing any difficulty [2]. This helps in carrying out the
database process effectively.
The major benefits that are offered with the auditing features are that it helps in enabling
the database without the need of initializing the parameters. The security parameter also gets
enhanced with the use of audit trail. Thus it can be stated that this is one of the best feature that
ensures effective performance. This will also ensure that the system is able to protect the
database from serious data breaches. The release of new features will provide faster audit
performance and will also ensure better release towards the Oracle Database. This will also help
in controlling the audit records.
