1.1 Selected the business in process map or flow chart and determine main activities.
In this section, it has been selected the process map or flow chart of “Fordwich Arms”
restaurant which provide the best quality of food & Beverage service to their potential
consumers.

An effective “Fordwich Arms” restaurant operations are becoming consider as crucial for
running business in proper manner. In above flow chart, it has been representation of main
activities performed by staff members such as Server wine, Serve starter, have cashier to prepare
Bill, introduce menu. In order to identify main activities which include in business operations.
On the other hand, Flow chart has shown the processing of restaurant where it start with
initial point to end point. As a matter of different fact, operation mistakes are severe and costly
but running a restaurant. With the help of process map, it is the best way to avoid any kind of

complex situation at the time of food serve or menu. Flow chart can assist for creating an
operational plan for restaurant. Under light of clear goal and plan, business process of restaurant
will help to grow organisation in long term.
1.2 Decision being made in the process and discuss the required input or output of each decision.
On the basis of Input and output of business process, it has made up an important decision
in order to increase overall performance of restaurant across global world.
Discussion on the input of restaurant business in which checking a proper reservation of
guests, those are showing a major interest towards particular Food & beverage services. At that
time, staff member of restaurant keep check or update on regular basis (GLN and Schlutter,
2020). So as, it will be made a decision at the time of input where restaurant provide the option
for guests, where they can easily check availability of table or not through digital application.
On the other hand, it provide the better services so that it will be generating a positive
output. The potential consumers have been completely inspire or motivate with facilities or
services. The decision made in the output where providing a return gift voucher, discount that
would attract more consumers.
1.3 Describe how selected process, explain the benefits from digital transformation.
The selected business process of “Fordwich Arms” restaurant can be worked properly, at
some part of it can be digitised in the input. It will include an option of guest to search, find the
best offers by using Smartphone app. This is not only helping to select food options but it also
booked a table (Juneau and et.al., 2021). At that time, digitalised concept plays important role in
order to establish a good relationship between consumer and restaurant staff members.
In future, it become easier for restaurant to find their regular guest because it keep record
the information or detailed about client within system. There are various benefits of digitalization
in business process: - It obvious advantage such as accessibility of data or information, easy or
immediate communication, increase an ability to share information from employees to guest. To
achieve the high competition level in marketplace.

2.1 Data management system
An effective data management is based on the crucial piece of deploying IT system that
help to run enterprise applications. It provide the best option in order to gather or collect
information from analytical manner. It is helping to drive operational decision-making, strategic
planning by corporate executives.
Information systems are integrated set of components for gathering, collecting, storing and
processing data. The Fordwich Arms (restaurant) uses the multiple information in order to
improve their business operational functionality in proper manner.
Point of sale (POS) system used by sale and production department- it is one of the best
tool use by restaurant to collect, gather, organise and interpret the information. Some kind of
advanced POS system will track current, historical guest counts, transactions and guest order
specifics (Kejriwal, 2020). A POS system deliver orders to the kitchen accurately and quickly
communicate to staff members. Moreover, some kind of offers, discounts manage by sales team
and also using dashboard features to increase the performance or efficiency.
CMS system used by HR team to keep record all information or data of employees and
guests, it become essential bookkeeping in order to manage the entire payroll and penny by
merging time, attendance data from POS. it accomplish tasks with proper manner.
On the other hand, some of consider such data automation system in order to process
business functions and exceptionally tight control over crucial numbers. Restaurant is actually
working by highlighting the business functions such as selling item, sales peaks, balanced labor
costs etc.

records, production plan and consumer information. These are necessary information stored in
relational database which may support to restaurant for improving overall business functionality
and performance on regular basis.
 Product Data- it is all kind of information about product which may be offered by
restaurant to client. It can be measured, read and structured into usable format. Relational
database can be stored the detailed of items such as price, cost, quantity, availability and
so on. Relational database is mainly attached with the information systems of restaurant.
It means that help to review all product related data or information.
 Production Plan- It is kind of module in information system of restaurant that help to
utilize all essential resources of raw materials in food preparation. Afterwards, staff
member of restaurant will serve order to different consumers (Ling, Gao and Wang,
2020). On the other hand, Production plan is one of the important aspect because it help
to create an efficient process of production according to the demand of guests, those who
are visiting restaurant and purchase multiple food & beverages.
 Consumer Information- on regular basis, there are huge number of consumer arrived in
the restaurant, book a table. Therefore, the restaurant will effective information system
which may support to store client data from databases and uses CRM information system
to update, maintain or record data in proper manner.
2.3 Explain big data in selected business process
Big data is basically collection of data or information that are huge in volume, yet growing
exponentially with time. Usually, it contained large amount of data with so large size and its
complexity that none of traditional data management tools. It would be stored or collected
information and then processed efficiently. A big data technology is always influencing
restaurant business to establish a correlation with data points, gathered information by POS. it

will give better options for potential consumers. Whenever, it is combined the data such as
ordered meals with repeat, reviews & feedback. It will get to the root causes of menu’s success
or failure.
In Selected business process such as restaurant, it will use Pentaho as big data tool in order
extract, prepare and blend data or information (Marques, Moura and Teixeira, 2020). Pentaho is
one of the big data tool in order to allow users turning big data into insight views. Nowadays, it
has been rapidly increasingly demand of big data analytical approach which may support for
providing the excellent quality of services to the consumers.
 Data Access and integration for effective data visualization which means that inspire or
motivate individual consumers to achieve their desirable goal or objective.
 Big data software that empowers users to represent the actual source and stream them
into accurate manner. It seamlessly switch or combine with data processing within
execution to get maximum task executions.
 By using big data tool, it allow user to check information with easily accessible consumer
details, total sale or production through chart, visualization and reporting. It will support
to offer a unique capabilities.

The Intelligent tools are becoming consider as thing like automation, competitive
intelligence, business intelligence and machine learning. Organisation can be used the intelligent

and et.al., 2020). This will help for representing the actual result or outcome.
The Fordwich Arms as restaurant can be used the efficient Intelligence tool such as Power
BI. This kind of tool or platform will support for restaurant business process which means that
acquire a lot of information or data.
Power BI- it is based on the web-based business analytics tool or platform that suite which
considerable of excel in context of data Visualization. This kind of tool allow the users to find

current trend, demand of consumers in real time. in this way, it become easier for restaurant
business to increase the efficiency and performance of organisation functions. BI is kind of web
based so that it can be accessed from anywhere. Multiple users can use tool at single time and
integrate their apps and deliver to report on real time basis.
On the basis of discussion, it has been identified importance of intelligent tool & system
for restaurant business process. Microsoft power BI is one of suggested tool or platform which
can help to create a dynamic visualization reports. In order to handle complex business process
of organization in proper manner.

A tool of QlikSense is based on the data analytics and business intelligence platform. This
kind of tool has been suggested to gather or collect information but it will be represented in the

touchscreen, which make it is very power as BI Tool (Nikutta, Fitzpatrick and Weaver, 2020).
That’s why, it has been suggested the efficient intelligence tool for restaurant business to
increase the overall performance and efficiency of enterprise.
Competitiveness- With the pace of enterprise accelerating, restaurant business in
competitive markets and gained the more popularity because of intelligence tool such as
