Planning refers to looking ahead and future courses of action which is to be followed. It
is a starting step. Its as activity in a systematic way for determining when,how and who will
perform job. It is a program in detail for future actions. Planning takes in consideration
available and human and resources of the company for effective co ordination,contributions and
adjustment. It is a function of management including development of ones or more plans for
achieving optimum balance of needs and demands with available resources. There are various
steps in function of planning which are establishment of goals,developing planning
premises,choosing alternative action ,development of plans,cooperation and following up plans.
For this project the company selected is Davison Canners Ltd. On research will be done in
order to find different development opportunities. It was founded 40 years ago by Davison
family in United Kingdom. They cater various products with a wide range in bakery,dessert and
dairy. It is a foods production company which is based on 107,Summerisland
Rd,Portadown,COUNTRY ARMAGH,UK. The project will research different growth
opportunities of the company by Pestle analysis,BCG matrix, Ansoffs matrix of growth and
Porters generic analysis. Potential sources of funds and their pros and cons will also be included
along with a plan for business for developing business. It mentions plan for exit and succession
for the organization.
