Zeynab is beautiful, she is one of a kind. If you saw her as we got married , you would
wonder how I was able to get her. Between her and Rashida my second wife, the difference was
evident. Besides in our village no one was as beautiful as her, including Wario and Suddarth,
there was none more beautiful than her. However, I vividly remember the day I divorced this
one of a kind angel as if it was yesterday.
It was a gloomy afternoon when I got home from work. As usual, I always go straight
home after work – not that I am bragging or anything. I never spend time with any of my pals
after work, to go to the pub or go to watch a match without my angel by my side- Zeyanab. I
make sure she’s always contented, providing for her needs. However, little did I know that this
gloomy afternoon would be the last chapter for my relationship with Zeynab.
You see, I had warned Zeynab severally about allowing herself to be seen by other men
as this was contrary to our culture. However, Zeynab is difficult. She chooses her own ways, she
has her own mind. She decided on this afternoon to completely disobey me.
Zulfa, my sister and a close friend to Zeynab was getting married on this date. I did not
find her in the house when I got home. I wanted to go with her to the wedding, or at least spend
the evening with her. But alas, she was not even home at all.

Having found her absent, I moved forward to my sisters wedding which had been
scheduled for the evening. I hoped upon hope that she hadn’t gone there as I left my house in my
posh Mercedes. You see, my house was a well furnished condo, with a swimming pool and all
the facilities that money could possibly buy. It had its own serene design and as I drove off
through my gate, I wondered what I had not provided for my Zenab to leave like this.
On arriving at my sisters wedding, I was shocked by what I saw -my Zeynab was here.
She had completely exposed herself to other men. She had left a hole in my heart when I saw
her, which was not possibly going to be filled. Seeing her, I stopped her. I pulled her aside and
looked at her straight in the eye. I told her the words. The words I had promised never to tell
anyone ever, especially when they were my whole world, “I divorce you! I divorce you! I
divorce you!.”
I later drove off, leaving her in tears. At the time the only thing that was in mind is how
she betrayed me. I couldn’t forgive her this time. This was the final straw. Her pleas for
forgiveness fell on deaf ears as I never cared what she was saying.
I got to my Mercedes and went, leaving her in the presence of Galion, my sister. I hold no
regrets for destroying the wedding day of my sister, because of my wife. On that evening when
she got back home, I had packed all her belongings. I sent her back to her father’s house even as
she begged for forgiveness.
You see, I am serious man who follows our Muslim culture to the later. I don’t like living
stones unturned. Having three wives was worrisome enough. Now that I have two wives,
everything seems to go on smoothly. Rashida and Siddhartha seem to obey me as they ought.
They have never betrayed me. They have never walked out on me, even when I angered them.

They have always been there for me despite the good and bad times and my love for them grows
even more by the day.
Rashida and Siddhartha are wonderful but still I have feelings for Zeynab. Her beauty
still shocks me every time I close my eyes. Her whole skin and complexion was something for
anyone to die for but her heart was full of darkness. She was disobedient to my words and ways
of life. But I have a problems since I still love her despite all she had done to me. Despite
betraying me, I love Zeynab more than anyone else. However, when I remember what she did, I
hold no regrets for the divorce. I close my eyes and fall to sleep, hoping for another better day.
