1. Introduction:
With the rapid growth of business industry customers’ needs and demands are changing
gradually. Employees associated with the business organization have to face immense challenges
in fulfilling current trend of market. Therefore, numerous practitioners have showed their point
of view that employees should always update their skills and competency with the flow of time
to meet customers’ demands. However, this very specific study has focused to make detailed
overview about the impact of training and development on organizational performance.
DBS bank is one of the most recognizable financial services primarily known for
developmental bank of Singapore Limited (Dbs. com. sg, 2018). In quest of providing superior
quality of financial services and expanding its business wings in the international market, the
business experts have focused on implementing training and developmental session to the
employees based on which their performance level can be improved.
2. Background of the project:
In last five years it has been observed that DBS is unable to deliver effective financial
services due to which the business experts are losing customer loyalty. Employees associated
with this organization are not very advanced in technology (Paillé et al., 2014). As a result,
customers are getting deprived of receiving services which ultimately damages the systematic
rhythmic flow of business. In this situation, numerous researchers have showed their concern on
evaluating this research issue by collecting effective data and information.

3. Literature review:
As stated by Ahmad et al. (2014), by involving the opinion of numerous eminent scholars
it is however observed that employee performance is highly important for achieving the target of
organization. In order to get good performances from the employees, the human resource
managers intend to implement training and development session on the organization for
enhancing the performance level of employees. Sung and Choi (2014) opined that training is
implemented primarily on communication skill, professional and technological skill. Effective
technological skills and competency enables the business experts in maintaining proper database
about organizational goal.
As per human resource theory the HR managers tends to use motivational theories in
order to give courageous outlook on the employees while providing financial services. Jones,
Woods and Guillaume (2016) stated that providing effective training to the employees is a form
of motivation based on which employees are boosted in dealing with different crisis
professionally. As a result, employees do not have to face difficulties in fulfilling the needs and
demands of customers belonging to various psychological backgrounds and attitudes.
4. Research aim:
This specific study has aimed to critically analyze the impact of training and development
on organizational performance of DBS bank. The study has focused to get detailed overview on
how proper effective training on managerial process and technological skill can enhance the
performance of employees in fulfilling need and demands of the customers.

7. Research methodology:
Research methodology is the systematic approach of analyzing necessary data and
information based on different reliable and valid resources (Fu & Deshpande, 2014). The study
for gathering data on research issue would like to select positivism research philosophy by
choosing deductive research approach. While collecting necessary data the study will choose
primary source of data collection technique by involving 100 employees of DBS bank. In order
to make data analysis the researcher would like to choose central tendency method with the help
