1. Introduction
Owing to the constant change and evolutions in the business environment, the interns,
fresher and graduates need to upgrade their skills, abilities and competencies. This is in terms of
maintaining the pace with the contemporary brands in the competitive ambience of the market.
Conducting journey mapping, attended coaching classes and spoken English classes are the
productive in terms of assessing the feasibility of the current skills in terms of the identified and the
specified benchmark levels and standards (Cottrell 2015). Within this, the main focus is on examining
the personal capabilities and analysing their impact on career aspirations. Consideration of the
industry trends in this examination is fruitful in terms of aligning them with the expectations.
Consideration of real world examples in the assessment is fruitful in terms of gaining an
insight into the requirements needed for enhancing the careers. These examples are crucial in terms
of standardizing the performance of the individuals. Typical example of this is setting routines and
time limits, which upgrades the approach towards dealing the allocated tasks and responsibilities.
Revising the targets according to the requirements is beneficial for reducing the discrepancies at the
time of actual performance (Cottrell 2017).
This assignment attempts to develop a report on self-abilities, capabilities and
competencies.

For the personality test, I agree with the results. According to the results, I am 57% introvert,
which perfectly matches with my personality. Typical evidence of this is the hesitation to mix with
people I meet. In contrast to this, I am 43% extravert, which accommodates the security, which I
achieve in interacting with the people, who I personally know and am assured about the security.
63% score for observant relates with the observational learning, which I exercise while learning new
things. 37% for the intuition relates with my approach towards dealing with the allocated duties and
responsibilities. In case of the personality review, I agree with the results that I am a prioritizer and a
planner. Typical evidence of this lies in setting time limits for the allocated tasks, duties and
responsibilities.
 Strengths and weakness
Exposure to new subjects unleashes my imagination and creativity. This is indicative of gaining
new experiences. Along with this, it also helps me to develop new ideas and thoughts. I think this is
one of my greatest strengths. Apart from this, I also think that I possess flexibility in the
communication skills. This is assistance in terms of communicating with different kinds of people. I
am worried about the resilience towards change. This hampers my personal development. Affirming
with the arguments of Barnett (2018), I think that in order to expose appropriate approach in this
direction, I need to make career oriented plans. Typical example can be indulging in personality
development courses. Along with this, setting time limits to the allocated tasks would be productive
in terms of upgrading the standards and quality of approaching the tasks. Indulging in group
discussions and open forums would convey my ideas to the others. This transmission would attach
positive direction to my personal development.
 Impact of the results on the career aspirations
Introvert nature would not be fruitful in terms of interacting with the people. This would nullify my
flexible command over the language. Observant learning would be helpful in terms of maintaining
the pace with others. Infusion of cognitive learning style would seem to be a beneficial option for
learning the concepts step by step. On the other hand, Brundiers and Wiek (2017) argue that thinking
skills would be crucial in terms of enhancing the creativity, imagination and judgmental capabilities.
In this, emphasis on the feelings would obstruct the personal development. According to me,
judgmental capability is of prime importance in terms of selecting the sources, which would help me
to enhance my current skills, competencies and experience.
Focusing on the traditional values amidst new experiences and environment enhances my
personal skills, abilities and competencies. As a matter of specification, this traditionalism adds to my

development. Evaluation would act as an effective option for assessing the feasibility, effectiveness
and appropriateness of the current skills, competencies and abilities. Affirming to the revelations of

performance according to the identified and specified benchmark levels and standards. Taking
support and guidance from the experts and supervisors would act assistance in averting the mistakes

3b. My Industry Requirements and Trends - Analysis
My preferred area is marketing, out of which have selected Food and Beverage Industry. This
industry is a prospective one, as new jobs are emerging. Typical example of this is Quality Controller,
First Aid and Service Excellence, Apprentice, Journeyman, Soups chefs, Food and beverage manager
among others. As I have experience working in café, this industry would be a prospective one in
terms of enhancing the personal capabilities, skills and competencies. However, challenges in animal
safety, legislations, instability towards the demands of healthy and organic foods, obstruct my
journey towards venturing in this field. Lack of developing proper timeframes is one of the other
challenges, which compels the industry to lag behind others in terms of the new products and
technologies (Smh.com.au 2019).
Inadequate cooking skills, improper experience in the previous organizations, high prices of
the raw materials and tax obligations creates potential challenges in the recruitment and selection
for the industry. For this, training programs are organized for the employees. Within this, the skills
can be segmented into technical and transferrable skills. Technical skills include flexibility in
operating the latest food processors. Transferrable skills comprise of customer service,
communication skills and cleaning skills (Smh.com.au 2019). I conducted research regarding the
growth areas of this industry and found the following points-

acquisitions would be efficient in terms of the expanding the scope and arena of the business. Joint
venture and strategic alliances would be beneficial in terms of reducing the financial instabilities like
inflation, high exchange rates and high prices of the raw materials.
Revising the employment policies would be beneficial in updating on the criteria for the
graduates and interns to venture into the services of the industry. Incorporating the legislations into
these policies would be crucial for standardizing the recruitment and selection of the staffs. Taking
interviews and practical tests of the candidates would reduce the instances of hiring unskilled
labours. Consideration of the benchmark level of performance is effective in terms of the upgrading
the standards and quality of the performance. Revising the targets on the basis of the performance
scores would be productive in terms of maintaining the balance in the business operations

4b. My Gap Analysis
The gaps, which I identified relate to the lack of technical skills. This might affect my
performance in the workplace. Lack of technological skills is an obstacle in terms of maintaining the
pace in working with others. However, good communication skills would help me to gain the
essential skills from the supervisors and other team members. Viewing it from the other perspective,
these skills would reduce the concerns and worries related to the operations of the technologies. I
think time management is one of an effective option for organizing the tasks according to their
priorities.
I need to participate in diploma and certificate courses in Information Technology. This is in
terms of gaining an insight into the latest trends in the food and service industry business. Along
with this, indulging in Spoken English classes would polish my communication skills. Practising by
giving presentations would enhance the flexibility in speech. Aligning with the revelations of
Bbc.com (2019), this step would be beneficial in terms of making my voices heard. Rationality in the
speech is needed in terms of enhancing the personality, indicative of ethical approach in
performance. Moreover, this step would act as an agent in terms of gaining perfection in operating
the technologies. Regular practice would reduce the errors in performing the tasks, indicative of
upgradation in the standards and quality of performance.
5. Conclusion
In order to maintain the pace with the ever changing trends of business, I need to upgrade my
skills, abilities and competencies. In this, 16 Personality Test is an important tool for assessing the
effectiveness of my skills. Review of the personal profile would be important in terms of gaining an
insight into the areas in which I need modification. Besides, I also need to update my knowledge
regarding the criteria posed by the companies. This would drive me towards my personal and

professional development. Within this, conducting gap analysis would be a beneficial step for me in
terms of identifying the drawbacks. Indulging in peer discussions would help me to assess the
effectiveness of the experience gathered. Evaluating the suggestions before considering them would
help me to undertake appropriate decision.
Organizing the tasks according to the priorities would be a wise step in terms of upgrading
the standards and quality of my performance. Repeating the test at regular intervals would act as an
agent in terms of gaining an insight into the extent to which I have improved. Action plans are crucial
for exposing proper approach towards the allocated tasks.
